Star Beam Bistro is located right next to Ananda Temple. Most of the seating is outdoors, off the main road, but we did not find the place to be unsettlingly dusty. The food was not spectacular, but there was nothing to complain about it either. This is not a very fancy diner and should be reviewed taking that important consideration into account.

An observation: We found that the vegetarian restaurant right next to it was a lot more popular among the tourists.

Good place to hang out in between temple hopping, but taste of food is very much adapted for farang taste. So you may want to try the European fare instead of local food. The warm Mini baguette was nice.

Like any place you eat there are different options and with each the flavor will be different. I suggest you try something local. Specifically the Breaded Butterfish, this dish is amazing. Also the smoked fish from the appetizer menu is also quite flavorful.

We went for a late lunch and were happy they were still serving.
We ordered a couple of salads, the vegetable and the fish curries and a Myanmar beer. The salads tasted great and so refreshing.
We sat outdoors and since the restaurant is located off the main street, it was not dusty and it felt good to be outside.
The staff were friendly and chatty.
There was a kind of a French touch in the bread and butter they brought to our table before the appetizers.

Less popular than its neighbour, but found slightly tastier dishes. Delicious avocado salad and very tasty curry.

Came here for a mid afternoon drink break from exploring temples. Ordered the lemon ginger drink and it was great - cool and fresh.

Unfortunately I went there although it was recommend on lonely Planet. First time in Myanmar that I left a Restaurant and was still hungry. Too pricy for size of dish.

This is a Euro-Burmese place as the staff had introduced to us. Food quality was good, nice presentation, and service was attentive.

Prices were slightly higher than what you'd pay in nearby restaurants but it's no surprise to pay a slight premium for western style food here.

Bring an alcoholic wipe or wet naps. There was a layer of dust on our glasses and plates, which then made us question the cleanliness of everything else.
