Good Myanmar food. Very clean. Just like most Myanmar restaurants, you can choose your main dish and it comes with free flow of rice and side dishes. The waiters are helpful. You can't go wrong with this place. Recommended.
It's epic Just order 1 dish per person, it comes with an insanely huge amount of extras. It's also really good, by far the best food I've had at a restaurant in Myanmar and the staff are unbelievably attentive. Great experience. I'll be back if I can work up a big enough appetite
Red kidney curry was flavourful, however green curry was just water and oil, not impressed. Your dish comes with rice and salads. Most of the salads were decent but nothing special. Staff is very attentive and helpful. We ordered a dragon fruit juice and what arrived was a glass of water with chunks of dragon fruita bit out of the way for us and won’t make the long trek to go there again. Tea leaf salad and complimentary dessert was a nice touch.
Great tasting food. And very nice serivce.
Touristy but not expensive at all. Lots of extra dishes brought from the house as well. Left very full and satisfied.
That’s an amazing way to introduce yourself to Burma’s cuisine and its hospitality.
The quality and quantity of food is spectacular: with every dish (of 4/5$ value) you get rice, soup and a lot of sides!
So pick up wisely and don’t exaggerate because you won’t have the problem of eat less. Go try this place and when you enter say “Mingalabar” (it means “hello, may you have a prosperous life”).
I can highly recommend this restaurant, especially if you're looking for authentic and traditional Burmese food. I am vegetarian and my wife is not but there was plenty to eat for both of us. Just BE WARNED, the amount of food you get is HUGE. So whatever you do, don't order more than one main dish per person. And in fact, if you got two main dishes there's probably enough for three people to share everything. We foolishly got the fried tofu appetizer which was great, but then our main dishes came with 6 sides, 2 bowls of soup which they refilled, unlimited rice, PLUS an entire platter of raw vegetables which were meant to be mixed with a spicy fish sauce that came with it!! Then at the end, they even brought us dessert which we were not expecting and we were so full by that point!
Anyway, everything was great and there were some really unique flavors there.. So be prepared for an adventurous and exotic meal. Definitely not for people who don't like to try new things..
You will be able to get various traditional dishes and delicacies.. Good for foreigners / tourists as you can try many dishes at the same place but a bit expensive, the taste of the food doesn't quite match well for me (a local).. However, good decoration, good place..It's just that the wait is quite long during lunch hours..
Very different from the experiences in Myanmar. Ordered some veggie dishes, bean curry and farmers cheese peas. A lot of extras/ freebies come as well so be warned before over ordering. You will get rice with the meal and soup will come first as well, it did taste like, what I would imagine lake water to taste like and a bit fishy.
A desert of sorts will come at the end of the meal as well, Tamarind type of candy and a tea leaf “salad” type of dish with garlic and chili(yes, I know sounds strange)
Overall the service was above average for even Myanmar which I have only experienced great attentive service at almost every restaurant. Average prices and a great value considering the freebies which is why I gave 4 instead of 3 stars.
Very good food made with attention. We had tea leaf salad, eggplant salad, mutton curry with lentils and spicy chicken local style all dishes were great. You receive a complimentary starter with small dishes and veggies plus a free dessert. Be careful not to order too much. Staff is super attentive and well trained. Total meal 4 dishes and 2 bottles of beer 20k. Well worth it
Wow! The food is amazing! Traditional Burmese dishes plus some more innovative ones. Upstairs is the air con room. The “freebies” they brought- salads and veggie side dishes were delicious and abundant. I had to take my food to go because everything was so much. Some of the dishes were a bit oily which I find in so many Burmese restaurants but it’s more of the norm so I can’t complain. Was a bit disappointed with the tea leaf salad though because I’ve definitely had better and at small restaurants.
I would have Gaven 3 stars but the parking attendant wasn't friendly at all & order me to park this and that. After I parked another parking attendant came up to me to move my car again. I ended up parking 3 different places. Not a good experience at all.
The foods was OK . I will give 3 stats for the foods & decoration but no star for parking attendants.
Lots of local eating here.
Went there for late lunch, still a lot of people eating.
Fish curry and pork curry were equally good, the meats are very tender.
Tamarind salad was the highlight, we never had this anywhere else. It's so tangy, refreshing
There are complimentary side dishes and desserts.
It was our first meal in Myanmar and a great place to start.
Very affordable, curries from 3000 kyat.
Very good food & drink, reasonable price, a lots of FREE side order/snacks/sweet
Amazing restaurant, staff are super friendly and the food is delicious. I had the lamb curry with chickpeas. It was as good if not better then lamb from back home in New Zealand. To top it all off the prices are great, even on a backpacker budget.
One of the best Burmese traditional restaurants in Burma. Very reasonable prices. Good decor. Better than any Burmese food place in Yangon at this time.
Whatever you order you will get many Burmese side dishes additionally. Seems like the real Burmese deal with a better atmosphere than street food. Prices reasonable.
Open during Thingyan!
Delicious Burmese food with a great selection of sides that are complimentary. However, the menu has no prices.
Would give this place six stars if I could. Between two of us we split a veggie curry, noodles, fried tofu, and a tomato salad and paid 8,000 kyat. Each dish was delicious, and they claim it's all cooked in healthy oil (which is a first). The room was air conditioned and the service was top notch. On a backpacker budget you can eat like a king without feeling bad.
Great food and excellent service. Mingalabar is a must try if you're looking for Burmese food but didn't want to risk a trip to gastro hell from street vendors.
Definitely order the Mutton curry with potato and traditional pork curry and tea leaf salad for something different. Be warned that these 3 dishes will serve 3-4 as the servers bring additional accompaniments free of cost (these consist of bowls of potatoes and other traditional Burmese sides). Will definitely be going back for more tomorrow.
Great food great staff. We ordered the spicy shredded mutton it comes with a soup to start and 6 sides plus after dinner nibbles. All for the advertised price of the main meal.
The food is as described spicy if you like hot and spicy food this is the place to go.
There is an air conditioned room as well as the main din8ng room.
Great atmosphere with a high turnover of customers being a good mix of tourists and locals.
The staff explained each dish as it was presented.
The restaurant was clean, service was quick and prices were very reasonable. If you are in Mandalay then I would recommend this place.
