  Best hotel in town still at budget prices. A twin room was MMK 25,000 per night. The Royal Rose Hotel down at the market has cheap, run down rooms, so make sure you end up at the bungalows at the beach front. They have about 10 rooms all with fan and AC (although electricity in town is only till 11pm). They are all from late 2016/ early 2017 with basic but good sanitary facilities. There is a stretch of 4 km of beautiful, untouched beach in front of the hotel with only some local fishermen passing by. In the evening you can enjoy a camp fire on the beach.
  
  They can arrange for a boat trip to a small island in front of the coast with beautiful white beaches, crystal clear water with good snorkeling opportunities (take your own gear) and strange moon like rock formations. Great half day trip. They charged for the 4 of us MMK 25,000.
  
  Best restaurant in town is probably KoKo Nyi Nyi which served Thai, Birmese and Chinese food. Try the crispy fried whole fish! You have to bring your own beer, as they do not have a permit to sell alcohol.
  
  If Ngapali is too far you from Yangon, too expensive or too touristy, then Gwa offers a good alternative with similar but unexplored beaches.
