  Sit at the terrace in front of coffee shop and inhale some fresh air in the morning. I guess I can only do that during winter. No staff comes to pressure on you ordering anything

  The Royal Mingalardon Golf and Country Club challenges golfers not in the way that they expect. Nor welcome.
  
  It is a good course to train golfers in handling adversity, playing in tough conditions, not submiting to a resigned mentality and patience, lots of patience.
  
  The fairway grass is long and the grass in the rough is even longer, thriving on the fertile soil. So much so that the manual grass cutters using hand-held, petrol-powered equipment with spinning blades simply cannot keep up.
  
  The soft soil does not help. Many times when the ball drops vertically, it plugs almost completely out of sight. Patience in finding the ball is called for.
  
  Even when the ball is launched at a low trajectory, there is very little ball run on the fairway. You will need to club up with full follow through to get the distance you want in your stroke.
  
  Overall, the course is flat with water features that are mostly not in play. Only challenge for the novice player is the need to clear long swathes of GUR or rough in order to land on the fairway.
  
  The staff deserves mention. They offer courteous and efficient service, but only when they understand what you ask of them. If not, keep calm as they do and repeat slowly and clearly. Even if they still don't know what you want they will bring several items in hope that one of them is your choice. They derserve an A for effort.
  
  A course to be played for the experience, but not one that I would return to.
