A wild place to start your proper Burmese adventure. Don't be scared, the locals are friendly, just look out for roaming busses and make sure you arrive early. This will help you navigate the system and find your bus whilst having time to soak up the busy and truly authentic atmosphere. Give yourself extra time to get here as it's further out of the city than you'd think

Prepare 1 hour ahead if you go from city center.This is a very large and chaotic bus station, don't expect to find your bus your self but ask the taxi driver to take you to the bus. Gate entrance for taxi cost 200, give it to taxi driver

A chaotic bus stop station. Don't expect a clean restroom nor a systematic bus station. Don't expect they accept credit card when buying bus tickets. Don't expect a comfortable waiting area.

Upon arrival, local taxi drivers will flock on you as they assume you will be needing a ride to the city. I highly suggest you use your grab or uber application. Use C B Bank Aung Mingalar as pick up point. Aung Mingalar to Downtown Yangon cost me 7,800 kyat (via Grab)

huge!

if first time there better get a good taxi driver to find your way around inside the station (extra 200,- for the car to get inside - but worth it!).

lots of little restaurants and shops. beware of getting lost in there.
and don’t forget the mosquito repellent!

after you get used to the place: easy and lots of opportunities to kill time.

If you're taking a night bus, this place would be very messy and hard to locate your bus. Thankfully my taxi driver was nice to help me locate my bus. Took over 1.5hours from downtown Yangon.

If you're arriving in the morning, Taxi Drivers will flock you. Avg prices to downtown would be between 7000-9000kyats.

Crowd, dirty environment, far away from Yangon City..better prepared 1 hour before go to this bus station if u wanna go to Bagan or Mandalaywe could find the food shops but not sure about the hygiene and the toilets was smell uuuhhhh.;(

CHAOS and FILTH.

you can avoid the expensive taxi to the centre. take a shared taxi to sule pagoda 1000 kyat. they pass by across the road from the bus station entrance. they're little 8 seater mini buses usually with Nescafe advertising. they also go to the station from sule pagoda, just ask someone

Almost always crowded.
Advertisers of some highway expresses and some businesses like massage, spa etc are VERY Annoying. Taffic Jam is terrible.

It is a small city with buses everywhere. Keep in mind that getting there and away is a trip on itself, reserve enough time : at least 45 min from downtown Yangon

It's far away from the centre, but if you leave at night or early morning hours you don't have to leave so early. Furthermore, it's huge and you might have to ask to find the bus. Taxi from the China town cost us 10 000 Kyats at 4:30 in the morning and took 40 mins to get there.

Very far from the city centre, but is the connection to other towns/cities in Myanmar. Be sure to leave early, and it took me an hour and a half to get here via taxi in the evening from central Yangon. Apparently I was lucky, as some patrons drove for 2 hours. It's a busy bus terminal, and it can be a maze to find your bus company if your taxi cab isn't familiar with the area.

This bus station is big, very busy and a bit dirty. It is easy to get a taxi from here to the airport or the city center. Taxi drivers are a bit aggressive though.
