Low price for a very good, clean room. Staff is helpful and friendly. Breakfast is varied and one of the better ones in Myanmar. A nice rooftop view on the city and river to have breakfast on. WiFi not the fastest but stable.

One of the best hotels I stayed at in Myanmar for 8$ a person, you could get cheaper rooms if you like a room with outside shower and then you get a grea, clean room for cheaper than most hostels.
Breakfest is one of the best I had and you can ask for refills.
Stuff is very friendly, they even chased me with a motorcycle for half the town because I forgot my little bag there.
On the night of christmas they had a dinner on the rooftop for people at the hotel where they made large bowls of great soup for everyone and each table got a free bottle of whiskey and bottles of coke. All of it for free (:

Shower not at the same floor. 6 floors and you might be asked to go 2 to 3 floors witch is not reasonable. Except that they are fine

The rooms are clean and very quiet, windows block a lot of outside noise which is good. The showers are also very powerful! The staff are also very friendly if a little clueless...They confused me with other western travellers several times.
The shared bathrooms are on the 6th and 1st floor which involves either walking through reception or everyone eating their breakfast when you've just woken up.
The breakfast was awful. Unseasoned, very greasy and cold rice or noodles with a cremated fried egg on top. Bread that tasted like ice cream and something that could be loosely described as "butter" It also includes an instant coffee which you will enjoy pouring in your tiny cup. You do get 2 bananas though so not all bad.

They also have a water tank to refill plastic bottles in reception...for staff. If you want water you have to buy your own so you will accumulate 80 plastic bottles in your room.

Cheap. Bad if you wish to have the opportunity of meeting other travellers.

++ there is a young man there working who makes the hotel worthy. He was really really friendly, truly nice.
+ nice terrace with amazing view of the river.

    - breakfast below average. Too much quantity, not good flavor.
    - economic rooms are a no no. Maybe we were unlucky but we couldn't sleep because bed bugs. We had to clean everything after.
    - rooms are not generally clean and the beds didn't feel higienic enough.
    - WiFi was almost non-existent

Strange hotel. Shared bathrooms are on the roof. Room was basic, beds were ok for the price point. Location is a little out of the centre of town but still good.

My friends and I had a fantastic stay at the Red Dragon hotel. They picked us up from the night bus at 5am and offered us free early check-in so we could get some extra sleep. The rooms are simple, but clean and great value for money. You can opt to have AC which works perfectly, and the beds are comfy. Breakfast is simple but tasty (rice or noodles with a fried egg, toast and fruit on the side and bottomless tea) and it's included in the cost of the room. The staff are fantastic - so lovely and helpful. I had an especially eye-opening experience when I had a minor crash on one of the hotel motorbikes. A local shopkeeper called the hotel and a member of staff came directly to help me. The bike had a few knocks and scrapes and was leaking oil so I feared the worst in terms of costs (especially having heard so many horror stories from other SE Asian countries), but the lady from the hotel simply knocked a couple of things back into place, dusted it off and said it was fine! She was very much more worried about me and took out the first aid kit to clean me up when we got back to the hotel. No extra cost for the bike, and she checked on me later that evening and in the morning too. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Hsipaw!
