  5/5 for the artists. 1/1 for the attempted scam.
  Today, July 17th at 11.30am, we went to the Marionette Theatre to ask for the price of the show. One of the guys who were there, I understood it was the boss, told us 15000 kyats or 12$, which is the usual Myanmar change from ks to $.
  When we went back the same day at 7.30pm to buy the tickets, an other guy tells me that the price is 15$. I replied that it couldn't be correct because we had been told an other price.
  The guy tried to get out of trouble explaining that it was because of the change 1350 kyats = 1$. Ok, then if I'm right, 15000ks are 11$, not 15$.
  Obviously I couldn't accept to get ripped off and we paid in Kyats
  The guy clearly tried pocketing 3 or 4$ / pax.
  
  That's a shame because the show is great and tha artists are real performers.
  Attempted scams tarnish the image of the Theatre.

  A unique experience and a good way to spend an evening in Mandalay since there isn't much else going on. The puppeteers are very talented and the orchestra is fun to watch. Do read the program beforehand so you have some context for the scenes. Not for everyone, though, so only go if you're looking for a taste of history and lost art-form.

  Music and singing is live, not everyones taste bc of tunes.
  Entry fee for 45min show is 10k kyat. And I think it is worth it.
  Marionette performance with short introduction in english. Sometimes funny and they lift the curtain so you see the masters of the puppets. Very entertaining!

  Only on the beginning the dance of a Myanmar girl was interesting, that's it. Only if you have kid maybe.. And it's expensive. Some peoples leaves in the middle of the show.
