Awful experience after waiting in line at reception then asking if anyone spoke English receptionist started laughing at me and speaking something loudly in Burmese so colleages joined in. Apart from that just ignored me. Anyone claiming this is an option for international travellers I would strongly disagree with. Rude and offensive beviour is not needed when you're so weak you can barely walk. Unproffesional and irresponsible.

Foreigners should not go to this hospital as it may confuse and maybe even scare you a bit. This hospital caters to the general public and is very busy. Patients are sometimes put in room with up to 20-30 other patients.
You can request for a private room if they are available. Doctors are good and usually work at other hospitals or private clinics as well. Nurses and medical students are friendly and do their best to cater to patient needs.

This is the largest public hospital in Upper Myanmar. It has many speciality departments such as cardiac, renal and liver special care units. As this hospital is over 100 years old and some buildings were built by private donors. As a result, the structure of the hospital is bizarre and non systematic. Another big problem for these days is there is no enough parking space not only for public but also for the health care stuffs.

Well reliable tertiary medical centre for all the patients in UPPER MYANMAR! Noticeable developments (building and facilities) can be seen yearly.
