We stayed in the Platinum hotel at the begining and end of our holiday in Myanmar, and really liked it. Great value. Very clean, with all amenities, including toiletries, good fridge and air con. Staff were all extremely attentive, and the breakfast buffet had plenty of choice, including freshly cooked omelettes on demand. Although its not in the city centre, its only 2 minutes walk to the train station and you can get to the city by train for 20 cents(or all the way round the city - 3 hours), and see lots of local life on the way. Taxis to/from the city are 4-5 dollars. Thomas, the owner, was very helpful booking us cheap overnight bus tickets to Mandalay when we couldn't do so because of high demand after the full moon festival. He also arranged a taxi to the bus station, and allowed us to store our excess luggage at the Platinum Hotel while we were away. Highly recommended.

Near Thuwanna National Stadium. Buffet breakfast. Free Wi-Fi but low Internet speed. Elevator for each floor. Quiet place. A bit far away from Yangon city downtown area. Rooms are clean and charges are fair.
