For a non biker but adventure lover like me, Grasshoper was the best option! We rid the bike around the plantations area with a snack break in between on a local shop.
Our tour guide, San, is burmese and speaks really good english (quite difficult to find in Myanmar!).
Then, we moved by boat to a different part of the lake bringing our bikes on it, the bike adventure is a never ending one and i loved it!
For lunch, we had a local meal in a floating house and it was delicious! Specially the entrees, tempura vegies and rice with onion wrapped in a banana leaf are just unforgettable!
Getting to know the way burmese people live and how hard they have to work to get a few bucks, i was happy to hear from San’s mouth that he has one of the best pay rate in whole Myanmar, sound quite responsible coming from an agency that has presence in 16 different countries all around Asia.
The day finishes with a kayak ride around the floating village and the sunset view from the boat on our way back home.
This Adventure worths every second and i strongly recommend it, specially because you wont miss any of what Inle Lake has to offer.response / report this review -

bike and kayak tour was great. a very local experience. knowledgeable guides, good english, great sights, including a spontaneous invitation to a farmer family. lots of food provided on the tour!

Another fantastic ride with Grasshopper Adventures, this time with our guide Wai from the Inle shop. My girlfriend and I opted to do the Mountains and Lake Bike Adventure, a full day of experiences you just wouldn't get if you tried to explore this area on your own. This was our 7th bike ride in our 4th country with Grasshopper, so high expectations were inevitable. Happily these expectations were again meet from the very start to finish.
A hotel collection by van was how our day started, for the drive of a little over an hour before stopping for a tasty local breakfast roadside. Now at an elevated starting point, the adventure could get underway. Starting from next to a school gave the added bonus of being cheered off by some enthusiastic school children, who seemed familiar with the sight of strange European looking cyclists leaving their town!!
Wai was very knowledgeable and he gave a comprehensive & detailed account of the area and its history throughout the day, various stops along the way gave opportunity to interact with locals in ways you wouldn't normally have the opportunity to do.
I started this review by saying my partner and I have done may rides with Grasshopper but I wanted to say again we´ve never done 2 at the same shops location. We both feel that anyone who can ride a bike and wants to get more from a visit to these incredible locations, will finish the day buzzing and feeling you've made the most out of your time.
We certainly recommend Grasshopper Adventures for their bike tours, they have guided rides for all standards of fitness and it’s the perfect way to actually understand what your seeing and with so many stops for food /drinks (included) throughout the day also what your eating :)

When in Inle lake make sure you reserve a day for a bike tour with Grasshopper Adventures. We had such an amazing experience! We spend a whole day around the lake a cycling through rural areas where local people work and live. We learned a lot thanks to our guide about all the crops being cultivated around the lake, flowers, and vegetables. The way the sugar is extracted from the sugar canes, the different types of rice and how they process it! The surroundings were astonishingly beautiful so it was a pleasure to roam around, and so easy too! We had an amazing local breakfast and lunch and we had the chance to watch the local festivities that were taking place that day luckily. As well we had an amazing time kayaking through the lake and discovering how the fishermen use their traps to catch fishes. we finished the day watching the sunset over the lake on the way back! definitely, a must have an immersive experience!

My daughter and I did the cycle and kayak day tour with Sam a couple of weeks ago. It was one of my top travel experiences ever. The opportunity to explore rural areas and be privileged enough to visit peoples homes and their home based industries (molasses and rice cake production) was such a treat. The authenticity, as opposed to feeling like things were done specifically to attract tourists (nothing wrong with that either), made this a genuinely heart warming experience. Sam took regular breaks to explain local history, traditions and agricultural practices. I grew up reading National Geographic so seeing Lake Inle, the floating gardens and village, the fishermen was surreal. This is definitely the best way to experience the area. Well done Grasshopper on providing a top class experience. I look forward to exploring many more places with you in the future.

Great experience. We did the bike, boat and kayak tour and had a wonderful day. The tour takes you away from the main attractions and lets you really see the beautiful landscape and get in touch with the people. We would definitelly do it again.

The tour around inle lake including boating and kayaking was amazing, and so was our guide. The only negative point is a very high prize, compared to the countries average for daytrips
