Drinks are reasonable and well made. Lighting is nice. Service is good. Lively atmosphere.
Very tasty food & very nice staff! But they don't have wine.
One of the less well known and well travelled bars, Cuba Bar is located on Maha Bandula road and is a walkable distance from other nightlife hotspots like 50th Street.
The menu is quite expensive and it appears that the prices are always increasing - beers are quite reasonable and shots are priced between MMK 2,000 to 3,500. We ordered 'Lemon Drops' and 'Kamikaze' shots but were told they did not have shots available and tried to get us to order more expensive versions of the drink. We persisted and magically they had the shots available. This redirecting is a headache and severely detracts from the enjoyment of a night out. Patrons should be on guard against this.
Making of our first round of shots was somewhat slow but the Lemon Drops were a nice and fun touch and tasted like cough medicine and they went down a treat. Kamikaze shots were a little disappointing.
When we got the bill we were served a higher one and they had to readjust it when we spotted the errors. Accidents do happen but this is a recurring trend I notice increasingly in Yangon bars and patrons should be equally on guard against this.
However, they did give us a round of shots on the house before we left which was a nice touch.
The bar itself is two-tiered with the option of sitting outside. A plus side to the bar is that they play commercial music including the 'Weeknd'. Another plus is its location making it a very good bar to start off the night or a good place to visit during some bar hopping.
Nice little pub in Yangon. Great atmosphere to enjoy beers and also to eat some nice burmese food. Only locals go here, and no english speaking staff, but they are still happy to serve you the best way they can!
Cheap and cozy
Good place for relaxation
Great hole in the wall jointreminded me funnily enough of a similarly themed bar in Toronto's The Beach area on QSE. Good service and cosy setting with decent quality sheesha/hookah (at bargain rate of MMK 10K - whereas else where it can be upto MMK 40K).
Very nice place for local and foreigners.
A small western style bar popular with the locals. I popped in a few times as is was a comfortable bar for me to hang out and watch life go on. At last orders everyone got a shot
Good beer & good service
