  Choosing our company to do the 3n / 2d trek Kalaw-Inle (the 6th since the beginning of our 3 month trip) took us time upstream on the internet. Indeed, we wanted to be in a small group, with a guide speaking both good English, and knowing the places and the local culture. Moreover, this trek being particularly frequented, we wanted to try to avoid the beaten track.
  So our choice was "Alex Eagle", which had very good comments. So we put the price: at least 2 times more expensive than the other companies, we were entitled to expect quality! ($ 60 vs. $ 30 for other companies)
  The result was only bitter disappointment: the guide (Aung Aung) spoke only an extremely poor English, so he could hardly answer our questions (when he understood them ). Although very sympathetic and trying to do his best, he totally ignored our repeated demands for beings (at least apparently) on less frequented paths (we know full well that there are people, but at least give us the illusion that we are relatively lonely by adjusting to the rhythm of other groups).
  Moreover, he confirmed to us throughout the journey that we ate exactly the same thing as the other groups, and scrupulously followed the SAME PATHS (Lunch served at the same place and exactly the same for all groups : Noddles)
  The meetings with the families were good times, but the landscapes are far from those to which we aspirated (only the trek of Hsipaw for exemple in Burma, was much more beautiful).
  The best meeting, in the end, was the couple of Croats with whom we made this trek. We learned a lot more about them and Croatia, than about the Burmese, what an enormous mess!
  The only one responsible in all this, in our opinion, is not the guide, who tried to do his best, but the head of the agency!
  - he charges TWICE the PRICE to his customers compared to the other groups, without absolutely any surplus value (we did EXACTLY the same thing): where goes the money ???
  - the choice of the guide is a scandal: for such a price, having almost no explanation on anything is clearly insufficient!
  Conclusion: do not get you like us! For this trek in any case, nothing pays to pay twice the price for the same thing in less well!

  for more than 15 years ago . Now , he become
  trek cele and running good business . Also training
  young people to be guides . His office is in down
  town and sometime we use as KGG office .

  Super trek et guides adorables ! Nous étions 6 et avons eu trois accompagnateurs pour un trek de trois jours : 1 guide, 1 entertainment et 1 personne qui se formait au metier de guide. Le circuit etait superbe (un peu moins le deuxieme jour). Feu de camp avec la famille, chants, guitares Les soirées étaient exceptionelles! Toutefois, le niveau d'anglais n'est pas au top et les informations données le long du parcours sont plutot pauvres. Mais en discutant avec les autres randonneurs, on voit que c'est pareil avec la grande majorité des guides venant d'autres agences. Les autres randonneurs nous enviaient souvent nos guides et l'ambiance de nos soirées et venaient souvent passer la soirée à écouter Johnny Peter et Wilfried chanter ! Je suis ravie d'avoir choisi ce trek et cette agence !

  Alex and his staff were so great! Our guide was Benjamin and he made our trek unforgettable, he pointed out many native trees and even had us taste some wild fruits on our trek (magic berries). The villages we passed thru and guesthouse we stayed at was incredible. The local villagers were welcoming and kind, and cooked delicious food, we had so many great meals. Watching the village bustle with farmers going about there day was an experience I will never forget.
