  This beach is OPEN! Just visited this beach. Yes, there is remaining storm damage, but it is still beautiful. We went March 2018 and found that we had a private beach day! There were two other families on the beach. The restaurant that sits on the beach is OPEN and ready to serve you. Go visit them and support them in their recovery! There are beach chairs for rent ($6 ea). The sand on the beach is still being replenished so it's not perfectly even terrain but that was OK by us. There are some rocks on the beach. Again, we were not bothered by this as we all always wear water shoes. The water was FABULOUS; very clean, very clear, and refreshing. There was a sandbar with a 6-8in drop with lots of little shells, but beyond the drop the bottom of the bay was perfectly smooth, flat and shell/rock free. The exception to this was if you swam far out with a snorkel there were large beautiful conch shells. The water itself was calm once you got past the sandbar. This was perfect for me as I was on crutches and basically could only float.

  This is a very nice beach. Very relaxing and a great restaurant is a bonus. Great bar, the drinks are very reasonable and they don't hold back on the pour. Bring a towel or rent a chair. You won't be disappointed.
