  When completed, sometime in 2018, this grandiose Palais des Arts et de la Culture in Tangier will have a very large theater for the arts, and it will be a beautiful and much-needed addition to Tangier.
  
  It is too early to know exactly what will be inside, but the imposing structure is large and directly on the beachfront on Avenue Mohammed VI, and within a short walking distance of the Mövenpick Hotel and Casino.
  
  While the building is impressive, it is situated directly front of the remaining entrance arch and driveway leading to the vandalized and dilapidated historic Villa Harris and gardens which originally had a direct ocean view.
  
  (Thankfully, Villa Harris is being restored, but unfortunately it was allowed to be vandalized and much of the original architectural details, tiles, mantles, fixtures were stolen. Villa Harris gardens, directly across from Palais des Arts et de la Culture, have been preserved and are well-maintained with palms, manicured lawns and flowers. This is one of the most beautiful public parks in Tangier, similar to the many well-maintained gardens you see in Marrakech.)
  
  The Palais des Arts et de la Culture has a very high ceiling as you enter the main doors. It is being carefully constructed and will be attractive when it is finished.
