Sultan's palace covered to a history museum with artifacts from different eras of rule and trade. Beautiful, private gardens and courtyard are with a visit. 20 Dirhams to gain entrance to the museum.
Beautiful place. A must visit if in Tangier.
20 MAD (~$2 USD) on Jan 2018. I bet the garden is gorgeous when in full bloom. It was pretty dead when I visited though. The building itself/the architecture is stunning. The details in the woodwork is jaw dropping, and the classic marble columns against the open sky in the courtyard is, well, classic! The exhibits themselves didn't interest me very much -- but that's probably more me than them.
In sum, if the garden is in season, I imagine it would be quite a wonderful place to spend your time for 20 MAD.
Yeah, it’s just a museum. May as well have a look I guess
There are not too many very old structures left in Tangier, but the Kasbah Museum is definitely one of the largest and most interesting places to visit.
I enjoyed walking around the shaded interior courtyards and the cool gardens are fairly elaborate.
Not very extensive, but has a few interesting articles, like an old cloth wall map from 1154. Some food tile work, but nothing spectacular there either. Nice could chairs.
Absolutely stunning. Little gem hidden at the top of the Kasbah. Hard to find unless you know what you're looking for. Beautiful gardens inside too with free roaming tortoise!
Nice museum to go to, 20 dl per adult. Nice gardens with fruit trees and tortoises. Cool artifacts. Only french and arabic, but there is an English pamphlet. Still cool to see the stuff. Small, but worth it for the amazing architecture too.
The museum is wonderful, just dont trust the guides outside .
Small museum with some nice artifacts, beware that all the information is in french
Stolen by the security guy!!!!! Be aware of the staff! The security guy of the front door asked us to store our backpack before enter the museum. One hundred euro n' two hundreds usd was missing when we took our backpack back from the security desk, already reported to the police, now still waiting for response from local police.
A small museum but worth seeing in my opinion. I enjoyed the ancient decorative items and architectural features the most along with the courtyard garden.
