36€ a room, over priced for local accounts. The front desk woman without hajib didn’t appear friendly, when I showed up asking for some help. I stayed around the corner and paid half the price, but instead of giving me clear directions tell me take second stairs she probably viewed competitors as bad for business. I wouldn’t recommend this place. I went up two flights of stairs and the house was just on the right up another flight of stairs. She could have been more help hospitable for someone new just arrived into town but instead chose the low path to be petty.

Tucked away in the Chefchaouen Medina, this 400 year old historic small guesthouse decorated in Riad style was the place we elected to explore the blue city´s labyrinth of incredibly beautiful blue alley ways (you may want to mark the spot on your phone to find it again afterwards or take a screenshot just in case).
The blue pearl of Morroco features beautiful architecture details in various shades of blue and ochre. Apparently, the tradition of painting buildings in these colors goes back to Jewish refugees that settled in the area around the time of WWII. However, the original berber town was established on top of hill to protect surrounding countryside from Portuguese incursions during the golden age of dicovery back in the 1500´s.
The service was really great, especially coming from the hotel manager, Sana. She was very on top of everything and extremely accommodating. Included are the buffet breakfasts that were above my expection and were super delicious!
The rooms are not big, but spacious enough for two or three to sleep comfortably and are well appointed with pretty much everything one can need to enjoy a superb stay. They come with AC, a nice shower (depending on the room, it can be pretty small, but always functional), uniquely selected pieces of local furniture, a clothe´s rack to save space, TV and WiFi (spotty at times).
The roof terrace is the perfect place for a drink in the evenings and the annex terrace allows for some pretty spectacular views as you can see by added pictures.
If you arrive by car, you can always try to find the parking lot located just outside the medida walls, above the hotel (try looking it up on Google maps in advance).
If you take the bus, make sure to get a cab to bring you to the yard in front of the Kasbah and you´ll to walk up to the hotel for about 10-15 minutes.
In all, we absolutely loved it there and cannot wait to return!response / report this review -

The room itself is comfortable but they have terrible breakfast and the woman at the reception did not appear friendly / welcoming at all. The hotel is pretty expensive for the town and the services we received were not the true reflection of the price. Will not stay again or recommend. I think Casa Hassan would have been a better choice
