Really nice!
Amazing view of the river and the cascade, in the old Medina (even if a little bit decentrate).
The host is really kind while the rest of the personnel has nothing remarkable.
They gave us free breakfast, it was good, served in the terrace.response / report this review -

Great hostel and excellent value for the price. I'm surprised by some of the reviews as we had a fabulous stay. It's recently renovated and the new owner is wonderful, staff were super helpful and I was impressed by all the languages they spoke ( including french, english and spanish). Its in a lovely location, gorgeous views and easy to get to. Most importantly it was clean and tidy. I can't ask for more. I look forward to coming back.

Good budget accommodation with shared bathroom outside of room. Strange people that run the place; one morning I was greeted by a young woman behind the front desk, sitting down with legs spread apart (looked as if she were giving birth!). I didn't know what to say so I left immediately.

It is well located. Just 6min walk from la Medina. You pay for what you get. The rooms are much better compared to the bathrooms. Showers are in 3rd floor and rooms at the 2nd and 1st. Shower was totally cold. There is no aircon at the rooms. They provide shampoo but no towels. Cleanless could be better. This is not a place for luxury or fancy costumers, neither for a romantique trip. It is for people that just want to sleep in a cozy, cheap place and out of the turistique crowd.

Hostal la Joya is situated between the New Town and Old Town, at 70 meters citadel (historical monument of the medina, 50 meters from suika (ancient streets co bazaars, shops artezania 150 meters from the famous waterfall coming out of mountain.Â
The hostel is located in a pedestrian street and it is very close to the main square 100 meters (outa hammam) where bazaars, restaurants, coffee shops, tea shops) eye, send our customers to the best sites, retaurants, cafeterias.

Check-in was extremely disappointing upon our arrival on friday night. The staff was unable to render me the right amount of change when I gave 406 Dh to cover the bill of 256 Dh (kept giving me 144 Dh). The room was very small (2 single beds) and very basically equipped. The sheets were however clean which added some comfort to my stay. Highly suggest to plan your trip based on the time of the year, because it seems customary these moroccan lodgings not be equipped with heating equipment and overnight temperature can get very low (5 degrees during my stay). I had to sleep fully clothed which kept me warm. The shower facilities are basic but the running water was hot. The terrace on the roof provides an amazing view of the stairs toward the spanish mosque, and the location was very convenient to get to the main square of the kasbah. Would not come back as I think I can get better value for my other at other hostels in a similar price range (other hostels were better equipped and had more helpful staff as I walked around to explore the kasbah).

Only Arabic speaking staff. Also some mistakes with booking the second night, but after standing to our point, they agreed on taking another room for the same price. Plus side is that it will prabably be the cheapest place in town, still OK and close to the big mosque

Most basic accommodation. Not exactly clean, but ok. Staff friendly, but can only speak Arabic.
