Paella just wasn't very good. Shrimp dish was really bad - limp, fishy-tasting shrimp.

Además no sirven alcohol. Totalmente prescindible.

The first Spanish restaurant in Fez, El Rincon de Espana, delivers the traditional flavors of the nearby country, importing ingredients for an authentic taste. Daily specials are crafted from market fresh ingredients, which make each dish served at El Rincon de Espana rich and flavorful.

I enjoyed a delicious dinner at El Rincon de Espana one evening, and was impressed by the service I received. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the service was prompt. The restaurant’s atmosphere felt contemporary but warm and relaxing. The neutral earth tones of the décor are complimented by the modern black accents and comfortable seating.

I started with Shrimps, Pil Pil way, which was spicy and garlicky, just the way it should be. It was a great change of culinary pace, as the shrimp was fresh and light.

For my main course, I opted for a delicious royal sea beam, stuffed with sea food. The fish was cooked to perfection, lightly browned and flaky, and the seafood stuffing was so flavorful. After eating many tagines and other traditional Moroccan delicacies, the food at El Rincon de Espana offers a delicious taste of something different. The seafood is direct from the daily market, and the taste reflects the flavors of the ocean.

Dessert included iced nougat with honey, which was just sweet enough. The nougat was soft and the honey was exactly the right accompaniment. I also tried profiteroles with hot chocolate, homemade and drizzled across the flaky, airy pastry.

The restaurant also offers some Asian specialties, including sushi, Vietnamese, and Thai dishes. The restaurant is well-known for their sushi, and the mix of Spanish and Asian offerings is truly unique to this area of Morocco.
