Tl;dr: don’t stay here: unsanitary, uncomfortable, unorganized
-First of all, how can bathrooms not have hand soap?
-The mattress in the mixed dorm are probably older than the hostel, to tell by the size of the dents in them. The most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in.
-It rained while I was here, and it comes right through the cracks in the sunroof in the kitchen and just splashed on the tables and floor
-WiFi is terrible. It’s a modem meant for 2 people max and this place is always full. So don’t expect WiFi here, they just have it so they can say they do on Hostelworld.
-Employees that check you in will try to sell you the Merzouga Desert tour for a lot of money (170 Euro when we were here). DONT pay this. They probably get commission which is why the price is so high. If you’re on a tight schedule it’s nice and convenient, but you could just go to Marrakech and find a tour for half the price. Or take an overnight bus from Fes.
Also, probably don’t pay for their Taxi service to airport just go find a taxi. Not hard they probably get commission again. Do some research.
-Also, Merzouga kid checking us in tried to overcharge us. Also showed me a video of him abusing one of the camels he used to ride. He thought it was funny. I on the other hand am now reconsidering taking a desert tour of people are treating the animals poorly.
-Small and not a lot of space to relax, which you need after a day of running around in the Medina
Any pro’s?
-Free breakfast, and it’s better than most Hostels I’ve been to in Europe, but nothing spectacular.
-Free homemade lunch on Monday, Wednesday’s, or Fridays
-They seem to have other more affordable day excursions
-Building is actually very beautiful inside just needs cleaning, updating, and organizing
So why 2 stars and not 1? Because I did actually have a really nice time here. The fact that it is smaller (and also maybe a little bit because the WiFi didn’t work) created a talkative environment where I met a lot of wonderful people from all around the world. I’m just disappointed because this place has so much potential and it’s not living up to it. Also, the new employee from Merzouga really ruined the vibe for me, but the other guy was really nice and hospitable.response / report this review -

The facilities really reflect the price (and it's one of the cheapest accommodation option in Fes). Wouldn't recommend unless you're on a super tight budget.

Upon arrival we were told that we cannot get the private room we booked in advance. The staff did neither really try to solve the problem nor react compassionately. We were left without somewhere to stay, frustrated and disappointed. Do yourself a favor and avoid!

This hostel is small but has everything you need for an intimate stay with travelers from around the world! It’s laid back vibe is great for the solo traveler or a group of friends that want to socialize with other adventurers in the shared space. The staff was friendly, the included breakfast was yummy, the WiFi worked and you can’t beat the price! Waj was very accommodating in helping us with anything we needed while there!

One of the best hostels I have been to. The owner and all the people working there are super nice, helpful and treated us like family! Especially Mohamed and Hamid were super friendly and even shared their really great home made Moroccan food with us :)
If you are looking for a nice hostel where you can meet a lot of people, make new friends and have a great time and a real Moroccan experience, this is the place to be!!!

Great place to meet fellow travelers as the hostel owner does a great job of creating a nice atmosphere where people often interact. I had a great stay and felt at home quickly. Also, lovely breakfast! The owner can help you organize guided tours of the medina & Sahara desert Tour which I highly recommend.

Was so nice to stay here staffs are so friendly and kind, and they let us have Moroccan lunch and dinner for free they're so yummy. That was absolutely one of the best moment in Morocco.

Fantastic hospitality and people running the hostel were extremely kind. I recieved so much information about Fes that I would have not heard about otherwise and this made my stay a lot more enjoyable. Lots of tour information available too.

Not recommendend at all. Owner helped his friend to rip us off. A guy wanted to show us the hostel but we didnt wanted to. Anyways he went with us and the owner of the hostel told us to give him money. Also dodgy atmoshpere. NO WINDOWS. Sheets didnt got changed before our arrival. No toilet paper and dirty toilets. Looked at the reviews before but obvoiusly the ones one hostelbookers and hostelworld are faked. Thats why they got a high rating. Dont trust them. Spend a euro more and go somewhere else.

the hosts were lovely, extremely helpful and friendly. the hostel was in an alley just off the central medina, a great location, and felt like a nice chilled space to return to after a day exploring.
we felt very comfortable and welcome there.
the other reviews below seem to have been expecting more of a traditional, commercial hostel chain. if you're looking for a generic c western tourist hub then this isn't it.

We booked this hostel in advance. Arrived at 5:30pm. Area was very sketchy. Street to hostel not lit; hostel itself off alley with garbage. Did not seem to be nice neighborhood. Hostel smelled badly of drain and was of questionable cleanliness, raising thoughts of potential bed bugs. However, host was very nice and accommodating. Cancelled our booking no problem and helped us get a taxi to a new hotel.
