We visited on a cold Easter Sunday 2018 and the gardens were still in their winter hibernation! However we discovered a blaze of colour in the Azalea house, it was so stunning. The butterfly house was amazing too, so many and a variety of colours. The tropical greenhouses were impressive along with the cacti. Well worth a visit.
The bothanical garden is nice, we visited it in the winter so there wasn't alot to see outside but the green house looked lovely, a lot of plant diversity and the biggest Ficus tree I've seen in my life which was spectacular.
The only downfall was that all the informations were in latvian, a language that I don't speak so it would had been nice to see and the infrmation on english as well to be more understandable for tourists.
Good place in a nice summer day for a few hours walk in the park. Few green houses with tropical plants and butterfly house. Rich flower exhibits.
Island of green peace and fresh air in otherwise somewhat noisy city. Highly recommended to visit.
It's a bit out of the way but it's well worth a trip up to explore. The gardens are all very nice but the real selling point is the butterfly house. Main thing lacking is English translations of the many information signs.
You'll feel like it's a green oasis in Riga if you happen to visit this place during the winter months. And during the summer months this botanical garden looks like a small piece of paradise.
So much flowers! I love it!
Best in Latvia to see beautiful rhododendrons!
Great place to spend some time around
Plant are good. But you have to pay separately for butterfly garden. Also walkways are destroyed at some part of the garden.
