A good example about how to spend lot of money building a new place and not to be a good place. I found just 2 toilets and 1 shower in a 44 beds hostel.

When I arrived I saw 3 guest having problems about payments, and I also got problems with. I had 50€ and the room cost 6€, they had no change and they refused to let me pay with credit card or book online to pay in that way. They forced me to move to the city to get exchange, when that should be his task

Also the place was dirty. The only good thing was the bed, which was comfortable(as it should be in every hostel), but I'm sure you can find better places for similar prices.

Also it's located in a problematic neighborhood, lot of people drunk around.

I didnt have a good feeling when I arrived to this place, specially because the receptionist wasnt nice at all. She told me that i must go out to get some change because she didnt have enough; I asked her if I could complete the check in to leave my tuff to take a shower and then go, but she said NO. I decided to leave and get a bed in another place.

I have been in some hostel in different countries and this was the first time that I had this kind of experience

"Is it like on the pictures there? Please read this before booking!"
! ! ! I would like to say in advance that I do not have any purpose to "destroy" or "bury" this hostel. I had stayed in different places (starting from camping tents going till luxury) in my live so I ask only from you just to pay some attention to my words. ! ! !

-Your booking and what you get it is totally different things! Personally I have booked one bed in four bed room and when I came and saw that it's actually six beds and I have asked why is it like that and they said that here will stay maximum four people (but every day they were trying to put more people in). First day I have split my company with only one guy, but in the end I had only two room mates (they booked two bed room and when they were going in it appeared in general they do not have this type rooms, and we with hostel maid an agreement that we are staying only three in this room, but have I said before they were trying to put more people everyday).
-Everyday you had situation that there is a group of people with valid bookings (2-20) on reception and the hostel doesn't have place for them, and this was happening everyday for several times in day and night.
-Have you could understand it was really noise at the night time due to big quantity on people on reception, so sometimes it was hard to sleep.
-They had only one dirty shower without gender division for full hostel!
-Our room was cleaned only two times in week and only because I have ask for it, but even after "cleaning" it stayed really dirty. Also the trash can was changed only two times during this cleaning.
-They did not have any designated area for private hygiene, so you will brush your teeth in one of two toilets (also they are without segregation)
-Now what I can say about breakfast. They had it but it was like some bread, margarine and sausage, so if you are a person who is in healthy food it is not your case for sure. Kitchen is also really messy condition, so to cook something there is hard.
-THIS LIST MAY GO ON AND ON DUE TO LOW LEVEL OF HYGIENE, MANAGEMENT AND ETC.
SUMMARY: I cannot recommend "Riga Centrum Hostel" to no one due to it is not stable place to stay if you are a tourist or one business trip have I was. It has low level in any aspect starting from living conditions to management. I can say you may stay there only in emergency case if you do not have place to go.

+ It will sound too obvious but it has roof and it's warm inside.

PS: And remember magic can happen even in places like this!
    Best regards,
    K.Arturs!

We made a booking. But when we arrive it was fully booked. They find us a place elsewhere after 2 go and return ; the keys didn't work, the place was disgusted and the smell really bad. NEVER EVER GO THERE!!!

We paid for reservation and they didn't have space for us when we came.
After haggling they found us a place elsewhere and paid for the taxi to get there, but we had to fight for it.

Ужасное отношение к клиентам. Был забронирован номер. По приезду просто выгнали.

Would never ever recommend to anyone. Despite our booking we were left waiting on the street late at night. At first someone tried to speak English to us but later they didn't even pick up the phone anymore. Had to search for a new place to stay. Awful experience.

This was the worst hostel we ever stayed in!

We actually booked two beds in another hostel closer to Old Riga. When we arrived, we were told that we had to move to a different hostel "due to problems with electricity". Apparently, this is common practice because the Riga Centrum Hostel is never fully booked.

The whole hostel (8 rooms with 5-24 beds each) had only ONE shower and three toilets. Bathrooms were dirty at all times. Towels and toilet paper were only provided when we asked the staff. The dorms were dirty as well, the bedding was not changed for new guests - different people complained about bedbugs.

Firstly we booked a room in another hostel of the same group, but when we arrived there we were told insistently to go to this one instead giving very poor reasons.

It is true that they paid us taxies to go to the hostel, and that we were given a room for our group, but apart from that everything was quite annoying.

The hostel is farther from the city centre, in a rather conflictive area of the city. From the window of our room the sights were a backyard were people were burning trashcans. The "included breakfast" was a pack of biscuits and a yogurt.

The beds were comfortable, but there were 9 beds in 3 bunk beds, in a very little space, making the stay too packed.
