Worth a visit. The food that's sold here is excellent, although be aware that it if you have a purse, keep it near you, and be aware of your personal belongings.

Is the most fabulous market in Europe, there is everything from fresh to smoked and marinated fish, meats and vegetables, fresh Latvian black bread, everything is reasonably priced and they have homemade vodka in the front. Truly a Baltic gourmet experience!

Great produce, especially the cheese is lovely! Try the fermented cabbage and watch out for the konditoria with the coffee shop in the corner of one if the hangars. Great coffee and pastry there, super cheap as well.

Not many parking places. Very crowded. Quality of fruits and vegetables is good during summer, but most of them come from Poland. Fish quality could be better, but some sellers can send a message or keep some fresh fish for you on agreement. Night market in summer period is nice there, but prices are higher.

Great place, great food. Lots and lots of local stuff and meat specialities. multiple halls/ hangars full of local entrepreneaurs. Easy reachable by public transport. in the morning there is fish as well though you have to be very early to get some fresh catch. Old fashioned place and busy all day long. put on warm clothes in winter, not much heating is provided

This is an amazing market!
Riga central market is for sure the place where you will find the real market atmosphere. Is huge, divided for meat, fish, greens, bakery and more. It is a covered market, but there is also a big part outdoor. Is impressive how many foods you can buy there! Also inside there are different places where is possible to eat with service!
I give only 4 stars because not everybody speaks english, so sometimes is not easy to be undersood.

Good place to get all sorts of things, from random pieces of junk to meat, veggies and alcohol. You can find pretty much everything here and the selection is better at other shops as well as the price is usually cheaper (souvenirs are definitely cheaper). And you can always negotiate on the price.

Unique place to look around and large choice of different food and products. Personally liked the two Brewery bars with a good choice. Also purchased some snacks from the Gastronomy hall. You could see the history of the market and buildings.

Very specific kind of market where all your needs will be fulfilled!

Wonderful market both inside and outside stalls and shops. The produce of sale was high quality and low price. We wandered around for about and hour and had not seen everything but were exhausted. There are also stalls selling hand-knitted goods, jewellery etc, all at very reasonable prices. A must-see location when you visit Riga.

Real beauty of Riga. You can find anything here from food to clothes. Architecture of a gars is amazing and each of them has his own purpose. If you good or lucky, you can get a discount, negotiations are welcome, but they hard:)

Very impressive to see. 3rd largest market in Europe. Don't forget to wonder around on the various market stands outside the market halls. It just goes on and you will fine anything you want, need, don't need or didn't know you wanted.

Amidst a quiet city, you find an authentic hustle and bustle of a beautiful market, both indoors and outdoors. Fresh produce and all types of wares are displayed A feast for the eyes, and not to mention, the tummy! You can grab a bite at some of these stalls over the counter.

Highly recommend. It is really big and the sellers are really kind. Many new fruits we haven't seen before. We got a box of strawberry with 2.6euro. Very fresh and delicious.

The chibureki from the middle hangar (where all the cheese are sold) is to die for. Easily one of the best markets in the world. Diverse and exotic produce are stacked for everyone to feast their eyes on. Highly recommended to visit.

Try to speak Latvian if you want to avoid getting change in 1 or 2 Eurocents. Some interesting local specialties found were honey, hemp oil and butter, pickled cucumbers and other vegetables, lingonberries.

The food is very good value but clothing was not particularly cheap. Noted should be that the market is divided into indoor, outdoor, Russian and Latvian parts so it is pretty spread out.

Overall, this central market has amazing selection of good value vegetables, fish, meat and groceries.
