Denied our booking and lied to us.
We booked on line and had the confirmation of their booking, let alone that we had paid for the room, but when we arrived, the manager couldn't find our booking but said that he'd allow us to stay in the maids' chambers for 1 night while he sorted something out. We were really tired, so accepted the offer. The next day, he didn't have anything to help us, so I said I wanted a refund - to which the manager panicked and asked us to wait. 30 minutes later a room miraculously became available and he would generously not charge us extra for it.
We saw through the lie straight away - the manager had always had a room spare but wanted to sell it to a new full-paying customer. The room he did find for us was still awful - with decorating from the 80s and cheap cramped furniture with old and smelly linens.
The breakfast room was horrid, and we could not leave soon enough.response / report this review -

Lovely little hotel with bar and restaurant, stayed here twice now for events at Den Atelier. Incredibly convenient for the concerts we are going to and for Luxembourg in general. We paid £90 a night in August which is mostly thanks to the pound tanking. The room has a safe and a minibar, the mini bar prices are the same as the bar prices which is very cool. Minibar is a fridge so handy if you want to keep your own food / drink cold. We could have gone somewhere cheaper but didn't feel it was worth it. Only found a couple of channels in English but watching Wayans Brothers dubbed was hilarious.
English is spoken throughout the hotel.
We are in what they call the annexe, a separate building next door. Rooms in the main building are better but these were fine for our purposes. We had room 45 which is on the top floor, wouldn't be good if you weren't good with stairs. The room is compact with a very small bathroom, just about room to manoeuvre between toilet, washbasin and shower. One of the rooms on the other side of the landing was open and looks much much bigger, we don't need a bigger room for this trip but my advice would be to check where you're being put when you book your room and try and stay in the main hotel as it's not always clear on booking sites what you're getting.
There is a monoprix, a Melita and a Cactus nearby, all good supermarkets. Wide range of cafes close by, we've had good food and beer at Metropolitan and much needed and highly rated kebabs in the evening from Anadolu.
Breakfast is pretty good. Wafer thin bacon and very very creamy scrambled eggs are served warm along with boiled eggs, plenty of tea, coffee, juices, sliced cold meats and bread, cereals, croissants and pain au chocolat, butter and jams and spreads, yoghurts.. the breakfast area was busy at 9 when we stayed and breakfast is served from 6 to 10.response / report this review -

Il y a du wifi, un restaurant et ce n'est pas loin de la gare de Luxembourg.
