Hidden in a very nice location, near the Belgian border, you’ll find Auberge de la Gaichel. Small, cozy and English style auberge. Not the big luxury but good enough for a night or two. About 30 minutes from Luxembourg city center.
The only thing I didn’t like is that early in the morning, as from 6am, you hear the noise of passing cars. My room was facing the road. This did really disturb me as my wake up call was only at 6:30am.
For the rest, clean rooms, old bathrooms, standard breakfast buffet. Buffet could be better, f.ex. scrambled eggs 🍳
I could return as I loved the nature surroundings and the English style decoration of the auberge. Next to the auberge you have the more expensive hotel.

A wonderful location and a very good dinner. I would only add that not all the courses of the dinner were actually perfectly "balanced", but this is a criticism that only counts when dealing with a Michelin 1star, as it is. Just one disappointing point: we only have tried one of the desserts (some variations of the theme "chocolate") and, well, have to admit that it was not "exiting". It was good, yes, but nothing that in any ordinary restaurant you might not find. Anyway, a such a beautiful location helps you forgiving some minor weakness.

A nouveau nous avons vécu un moment inoubliable sur la terrasse de la brasserie. Le service cordiale, la cuisine soignée, comme toujours!
Aujourd'hui le Chef a proposé un délicieux tartare de dorade, qui, si vous permettez, cher Chef, m'aurais ravis avec peu de gingembre frais.

Even in het Nederlands aangezien iedereen louter Frans kletst. Wij zitten in de herberg in niet bij de fancy buren van het hotel. Heel mooi en prachtige tuin/bos met keurig gemaaid gras en bloemetjes in de bloei. Net gegeten en de kaart bij de herberg is wat je van een Frans restaurant kan verwachten. Veel keuze uit wijn 60+ Frans en 4 Italiaanse en entrecote, lam, ratatouille, burger en wat vis. Voorgerechten aan de prijs hoofdgerechten rond de €25. Wel waard.
Zouden misschien iets minder zout mogen gebruiken. Kamers zijn prima, althans kamer 20 dat is waar wij zitten. Ruim, iet wat warm maar wel heel schoon en verzorgd

Toujours très bien accueilli à l'auberge. Le cadre est magnifique, très beau parcs derrière. Repas simple et excellent à l'auberge.
