Beautiful looking castle on the outside. On a clear blue day, everything looks amazing, as the blue is strongly reflected in the water. Been here twice. First time with a tour group and we went inside the castle. For €7, it wasn't spectacular, as a lot of it is rebuilt. It probably would have been nicer if they kept the ruins. It was still an average castle to visit. Second time I went here, hired a paddle and row boat to go around the island, and this was very fun and scenic. Highly recommend doing this for €6-8 per boat for an hour. Also if driving here with your own car, you can find parking for about €1 per hour.

Really a 5 star site only marred by the 3 star crowds so I gave it 4 stars. We were there in late May so I can’t even imagine this in high season as the hordes of bus tourists were really distracting. Nonetheless it is a fantastic location and beautiful to walk around photograph and just relax (if you can).

One of 3 fantastic castles on lakes around. Rebuilt in XX century. Great museum inside - good place for all day visiting

A very interesting visit. The differences in architecture over time was fascinating. We were there in late winter while the lake was still frozen. The chance to walk all around and see the castle from all angles and distances was pretty neat. The remnants of another fort are an easy walk away as well. The area has a number of shops with lots of options for food and souvenirs.

Visited this place a couple times already and absolutely loved it. First time we visited during the winter. It was fun to walk over the frozen lake or ice skate. It was a little cold inside the castle, but the museum inside is fantastic. So many things to see, you need atleast several hours to walk through everything. Many interesting displays with descriptions and the restaurants around the lake sell the best authentic filled pastries with chicken broth that you just can't get enough of. Prices are slightly high

Really nice on a sunny day. Very tourist heavy but that's to be expected and it doesn't take away from the beauty of the area. Plenty of tourist type shops and restaurants around with some traditional foods etc.

Excellent historic site in a very scenic location. Completely rebuilt so don't expect to see ruins. The whole interior is a museum too. Great photo opportunities.

Impressive castle. Very nice views and not expensive at all for what you get. Can easily spend a couple of hours walking around.

You will see how it looks when modern age engineering rebuilds castle from Latvian bricks. Entering the castle square costs too much for what it has to offer.
It is much nicer to go to that wonderful lake that's all around the castle.

Amazing scenery, tranquil and full of history. A lot of activities are available. You can easily spend a full day here, relaxing by the lake.

Although the castle was all rebuilt, Trakai remains a nice getaway option from Vilnius, especially with kids. Aside from the castle, which has a number of interesting interactive displays on Lithuanian history, other activities include taking a boat trip on the lake or eating at one of the many cafés dotted around the main access route to the castle.

A great day out in an incredibly scenic spot. I was more interested in the history of the castle itself, rather than the museum of other things, although it was interesting. You can easily "do" the castle in a couple of hours, but it's well worth taking a day and wandering around the town.

A giant castle that blends in really well with the amazing view in Trakai. Lithuanians are really proud to have a place like this. The service inside the castle is pretty poor though. In my eyes, the entrance is a rip-off, since there are so many tourists willing to pay the price. But you can't blame the castle for that!

The Trakai castle is in the Trakai city. The Trakai castle is a very old building. The castle rises out of the centre of lake Galvė. This castle is important because it is historical place. Every day lots of people visit this place. There you can see lots of trees, birds, a lake and the beautiful red castle. There you can row a boat, visit the castle and enjoy the view.

A castel inside a lake. Therefore here is the best shot for wedding pic, so a lot of local couple will take photo out there. Is good to see the historical site still active in local groups which not only among tourist.

Great place to walk around and enjoy the view. Went there during the summer and it was raining that day. The bridge was also undergoing some construction. I can't fully say those two factors didn't affect my opinion about the place.
