Medininkai Castle is a medieval castle which built in the first half of the 14th century. The castle had 4 gates and towers. The main tower, about 30 meters high, was used for residential quarters. Most of the castle is rebuilt. The main exposition is located in the main tower. There is also an elevator. There are a lot of information inside, but you can also find there hunting trophy collection of ex president Algirdas Brazauskas. thats a bit strange

Great place to visit. Big historical castle with museum. Do not expect entertainment. Bring your own stuff for picnic.

On sunny July day visited this place of Lithuania history. Castle recently went through partial restoration. Inside castle tower is displayed modest exhibition of old weaponry, silverware and paintings on historic themes.

Did not expected much, it has a nice 5 store museum with a top roof overlook area. It's definitely missing some activities for children.

    Definitely worth a visit.
One of the towers holds small exposition plus you can climb on the top and enjoy the view.
P.S. Painting of A.Brazauskas is totally out of place here (and even looks kitsch'y)

There is a museum in the castle. Very cheap tickets, so you do not have to think whether to buy or not to buy :)

One of oldest castle ruins in Lithuania, the main walls are still intact and rebuilt in a few places. One of the wall towers was rebuilt and made into a museum. Quite cheap entrance fee and there are other things to see not to far, should visit it if touring outside the capital city.

Gardinio tipo pilis, savo plotu didžiausia Lietuvoje.
