The "content" of the museum itself is amazing, I love the idea that the exhibited buildings form a kind of artificial villages, and that they are quite far away from each other, so it is not so cramped and one can feel like in a real village. But a few things should be improved. Only the basic descriptions are in english, and information at any exhibition only in Lithuanian, as well as signs. Only one map at the entrance, so once one goes farther, one can get lost.

Great place for walking. In winter time internal exposition is closed-you can't go inside of buildings, but you can watch the beauty of old lithuanian houses anyway. The cost for adults -2 euros, entry for kids is free.

Not so much to do in winter because all indoors are closed, but overall I think it's a must visit place in Lithuania.

A time machine taking to Lithuanian folk 100-300 years back. Local tour guide recommended, because the place will be much more special when followed by a good story. Also consider taking a comfy shoes, some snacks and drinks because the place is scattered in a rather big area. Lots of pleasant walking. Also possible to drive inside for an extra fee.

Nice, beautiful place to walk around and discover Lithuania. May be boring for someones and a bit hard to get to, but picturesque and cozy place.

Definitely a must see place in Lithuania. If you come during summer time, you can take a bike and just ride through all the museum and see all those tiny lovely houses. Because if you decide to walk, make sure to take a little rest, because it takes really long walk and you'll get really tired. If you want to see the whole museum exposition, I recommend to start with Dzukija part, because it is the poorest region in Lithuania and finish it the village or Zemaitija.

Also during winter time they have Uzgavenies celebration five weeks before Easter. It is amazing festival, because everyone is dressed in a costume and a lot of folk songs and activities for kids and adults. Really recommend to see!
