The video presentation is something you really have to ask the staff to show you. Although it is a little too dramatized, it still depicts many dramatic moments in the history that we should all learn about. A very small museum which packs a lot of learning.

たまたま訪問した日が《杉原week》中で、こちらの記念館の外壁の塗り替えのセレモニーが行われていました。日本領事館だったこの建物の中には当時の日の丸が飾られていたり、展示室、地元の大学による日本文化研究センターも入っています。グッズなどの販売コーナーにいらっしゃったスタッフの方は日本語がペラペラでした。
この記念館は思った以上に閑静な住宅街に静かに佇んでいました。新市街の独立広場・聖ミカエル教会あたりから森林公園のような場所を抜け、道なりに約30分くらい歩いていくと『希望の門、命のヴィザ』と書かれている銀色の小さな門が目に入ると…感動もひとしおです。

日本人だけでなく、世界中の人に来て欲しい。でも、現在改装中で人も看板も見つけにくく、帰りそうになった。左手み小さな看板を見つけてようやく入れた。11-16の営業らしい。内容は充実しているので、旅行客の誘導にもっと尽力して欲しい！

Sugihara did a wonderful job during the WWII. And he lived in this house during his stay in Lithuania. Museum is small, but nicely prepared for visitors, with interactive expositions and remains from the old times.
