Main rooms are clean and comfortable. Don't expect any extras without it costing more. We originally booked into the backpackers but upgraded when it started snowing. Gas was extra and the walk to the bathroom would have been unpleasant. The road to backpackers is very rough. May have been ok in better weather.

Enjoyed the drive up, however facilities are a bit tired, toilet doors are crude and they don't have modern offerings like cuppachino, well they have nothing but filter coffee, and no sweeteners. If it was anywhere else they would battle to survive but then again its all about the pass not the restaurant. Would recommend though as an experience at least once in your life.

It was fun, we went up in our own little Suzuki Jimny for first-time and stayed the night the accommodation was good but the supper was terrible. The views are incredible if the weather's good. Well worth a trip.

An absolutely amazing venue, such a pity the staff were so unfriendly. We were so excited about taking a trip to such a special spot, however, we weren't even greeted by the staff upon our arrival. Very disappointing way to end a trip to such a special place.

Magnificent view from the top. Good service and food. Very friendly staff but at R1700 for a room it is very expensive. Use a guided tour to bring you up. Nothing much else to do. Takes 3 hours to the top from Underberg Road conditions are very bad. Drive slowly if you doing it yourself. People have died on this road. Crosses to dead people everywhere. Exceptional scenery. Take your time and your passport. And all your papers and patience. And a good book. No TV.

We loved it. For a back packers place it was exceptionally neat and clean. It was also really nice to be staying amongst the local people and watching their dogs and sheep and horses. A magical place indeed.

The view is great but service is so slow. My order was also changed without asking (they ran out of tomato soup so substituted mushroom soup without checking if I wanted it)

The view and the microcosm of fascinating flora alone are worth the trip. However the backpackers is expensive and pretty run down. The area is unfortunately full of liter and the detritus of the nomadic herders who live around the hotel and backpackers. Totally worth it though. Breathtaking views

I was a day visitor on my trip up Sani Pass. I had lunch at the pub, and was plesently surprised at the high quality. I had a window seat overlooking the pass.

Sani Pass views are spectacular. Bar and restaurant are okay - could do with a revamp and could be so much more, given the location. The trip up the pass is worthwhile though.

Out of this world, always carry something warm. I wasn't to impressed with the accommodation. The food was great and perfect for a cold snowy day. Highlight of the day having a beer with that amazing view.

This place is very secluded and a wonderful hot spot to visit. Unfortunately you will need to do border passport control to visit from the SA side. The lodge is spectacular and very accommodating with breath taking views. There isn't much to do except relax. Don't underestimate the chill from the mountain breeze at this altitude even in summer it's a little more than chilly. The staff are fantastic and everything was reasonably priced. The rooms were cosy and well looked after with a fire place being lit every evening. Bathrooms were clean but no door for those who like a bit of privacy while sitting on the throne.

Love this place, after driving up the breath taking Sani Pass nothing can beat a drink at the "Highest Pub" with its spectacular views over the Drakensberg. Staff are very friendly, lovely atmosphere.
