  Beautifully laid out compound - family managed and every wish is taken care of. The friendliest staff I have come across, you can really feel that everyone loves working there. Its also the only place in Sri Lanka where you get wood-oven fired Pizza which is serious competition to Italy. I highly recommend to stay here to get started in Sri Lanka.You will get the best advice, food, drivers and are able to relax in the beautiful pool or rooms. 5 Stars - you wouldn't want to go anywhere else!

  Very classic architecture and pool with a vegetarian kitchen. The rooms are very nicely managed with beautiful interior. Mosquitoes are problem if one is not prepared well, and this is the case with most of Sri Lanka. I highly recommend this place for tourists.

  perfect place to get started in Sri Lanka, or to chill out and relax before going home. Villa Araliya has a nice pool, really nice rooms with beautiful - antique looking - furniture. AC everywhere, WiFi at the bar, all rooms have a terrace or balcony. the food is delicious and vegetarian only. make sure to get some Pizza here - the owner lived in Italy for 5 years. he knows how to make pizza! and of course check out rice&curry. breakfast can be Sri Lankan or continental - I would go for Sri Lankan anyway.
  it's walking distance to the beach and the main street for shopping.
  I especially like that everything looks designed and thought-through. e. g. there are leave imprints on the concrete tiles and the concrete table next to the pool.

  Best in town, very friendly Boss and Family! The only place in Sri Lanka for real and tasty Pizza! ;) If you need a bus with driver, ask for Shuresh!! He is a very good and save driver and a guide with a lot of local knowledge! But dont buy Jewellery in Sri Lanka!
