One of the best nature reserves in Asia, with a mix of dry zone and medium wet zone climatic conditions. Consists many small and medium size lakes and waterways .. Dens population of Asian elephants and variety of birds including seasonal migrant birds can be observed at Udawalawa national park and the surrounding area.Though not commonly sighted Leopards and the Lankan sloth bear can be spotted if you are lucky!.

"Ath Athuru Sevana" the elephant orphanage is situated at the entrance to the national reserve.
Udawalawa is a place that should be visited !. It is a Photographer's paradiseand a nature lovers heaven..

Best safari ever. Could see elephants 2 to 3 m away from the jeep. They are so huge and cute. Must place to see
