Had a very bad experience here.. We wanted to look at the rooms and the owner took one of our ID so he could have a name for the booking, there were 4 of us so were looking for 2 rooms. When we looked at the rooms we were not happy as they smelled bad and the bathroom was horrible. We decided we didn't want to stay here and by the time we had gotten back across the road to where the office/reception was the guy/manager/owner had written up a receipt for he rooms. We told him we would not be staying here and he refused to give the ID back unless we payed 50% of both rooms for 2 nights. In the time we asked to look at the room and went back to the reception area only 10mins had passed and he still insisted we had to pay. What to do we needed the ID back and we were defiantly not staying there. We finally ended up paying the price which was equivalent of 1 room for 2 nights, and our driver ended up staying there, even tho he was also not happy with the place. Don't east your time even going there

We stayed at the New Tri Star Beach across the street. We could walk straight onto the beach from our room and could make use of the pool if we wanted. Pleasant stay, dead center of the bay. Easy access to lots of good food options on the main street and the beach.

Actually there are two Triste Star hotels. The older one is on the landslide. With a huge and well kept garden. As well as the Bay's first ever swimming poodle in the middle.
The other is the New Tristar. Opposite. On the seafront. Built just after the 2004 Tsunami. Air conditioning is provided. Blowing the hot air into the hotel..
