Very pleasantly surpised!
Sushi is not something I expected to find in Negombo. And I most certaily didn't expect to find the really wide range of sushi available here!
Sushi is not "cheap food". Reviewers complaining of the price and the portion sizes must be comparing this to other food styles. Perhaps local food joints. Because, yes, this IS expensive compared to grabbing a hopper or a curry and rice somewhere. But if you comoare prices here to elsewhere in the world this is not only affordable, it's actually laughably cheap. AND here you get a great range of very acceptably prepared sushi, served in a friendly, efficient manner in a clean, pleasantly furnished environment.
I had tuna sashimi, salmon sashimi, a tempura prawn handroll, a half a california hand roll, yasai sarada and teriyaki chiken. I'll definitely be back and next time Ill try more "adventurous" options things that I've never tried before.
And a lime juice or 3 is a perfect sushi accompaniment on a steaming Sri Lankan day!response / report this review -

Special restaurent! They charge you 10% for service (which is normal), and another 20% for "the goverment".

It is quite overpriced considering food amount. I came at lunch time and staff said no tuna today, so I ordered chicken gatcdon and samurai roll. The roll is never worth the price. It is just like maki roll with all kinds of fish in small amount. This turned out to be a worst choice coming here while staying.
Moreover, water and miso is not included.
And be careful of tax bomb you are gonna be toasted.response / report this review -

Hi, Very friendly staff, atmosphere and service is just fast but not check customer satisfaction. food quality is very poor. did taste Chlorine more than the taste of green tea. i order natto for my baby because baby like Natto very much. But she split it out and i smell it, it was smell like bad dryfish. it was too much old. Natto expires 10 days after production. I assume that Nutto was few months old. never try something come with Natto there. we left 3/4 of our food what we ordered. but staff didn't ask how was the food like ?

I have informed the management as a very regular customer. They are cutting cost the wrong way this is not the way to keep customers they are ripping you off with quantities. Reducing sushi Grams.

Quality, Cleanliness, Consistency.
Small and intimate bar. However, staff needs to enlighten local customers before placing the order about the the special or specific flavours associated with the food. For instance an egg roll which was thought to be spicy was quite sweet. A fried chicken noodles which was ordered for a child had such a strong and tart flavour that the child couldn't enjoy it.
This customer care quality will make everyone's experience better.
Also they should have Japanese music and Japanese sweets to compliment the quality of the place.response / report this review -

We came here for dinner whilst overseas. It's quite nice, a good atmosphere, pop music, yummy sushi.
There's the option for ordering off the menu, or there is the sushi train. We opted for the sushi train. It was great some good selections available, the only thing I didn't like was the lack of variety. There was only four usually on rotation.
Other than that, the prices are pretty much the same as home, but it was good for an experience.response / report this review
