Beautiful property in a very peaceful setting. Drinks (non alcoholic) on the verandah in the evening end the evening perfectly. Really friendly staff and delicious food.

Very close to Tisawewa and walking distance to main sacred places. One of the leading hotels in Anuradhapura.

Lovely old building set in big gardens. We enjoyed watching the monkeys chasing around from our verandah. Loved the food. Lovely staff.

The place is really nice and rooms are very clean. And the staff was really nice too expect for the Lady who is managing the place. she was quite rude and unhelpful when we wanted to change the room to a double bed room. The receptionist said there are rooms availbale and can change the room but the lady said there are no rooms availbale and just brushed us off.

I had a very sad version of samosa&salat, and the service was very slow. However its a nice location to have a rest from the sun&heat

The staff was very friendly and we received a warm welcome from the entire staff there. However, there are many areas need to be improved.
Eg: Service and Cleanliness inside the rooms.

The best place to stay in the holy city of Anuradhapura. It is the old "rest house" from the British colonial era. While gorgeous antique furniture remain the standard, the rooms have contemporary comforts. Meanwhile peacocks roam the grounds with other delightful and colourful flora and fauna. Most importantly, though, the staff is second to none. Truly, the place to stay when visiting this ancient city.

The closet hotel to Anuradhapura secret city. If you look for convenience this is the best place with classy service, food. A colonial property with huge garden with monkeys, peakoks etc.

stayed 2 nights. setting is unique. a colonial bungalow once occupied by a British governor. very private. my wife and I stayed at room 2 located at upper floor. wooden floor and high wooden ceiling. decent interior but not the level you find in a 4-star or 5-star hotel. 2 single beds joined instead of a double bed. Large bathroom with a shower. you get hot water in the morning but not in the afternoon. there was a hair-dryer. shaving mirror. clean and neat bathroom but again, no "wow" effect. Place was very quite like we were the only people but saw few foreigners at the restaurant later. À la carte style menu is very limited. you have to select and order dinner in the evening. We got late 2nd day. I had to call the hotel and inform them we couldn't come before 7:30pm to order dinner therefore change my half-board status to B/B which they did without any hesitation. it was around 9pm when we returned therefore nobody came to take our next day breakfast order. so, we had to accept what they gave us next morning. staff is not always waiting to serve you or satisfy you. you have to go to them. And, specially, if you have small children who jump and run around, beware! they will come to you and tell you, you are disturbing people below, at the restaurant. this is our experience. if you value quietness and privacy above all, this is an ideal place. my personal opinion as a business traveler, experience not worth the price.

Colonial style hotel with good staff in a good location for the historic sites. Restaurant is no longer BYOB, no alcohol in public areas (I mention this as it is stated in guide books and another table turned up with beer and left with it, we also bought wine and were told we could only drink in the room). Food is very good, service also good.
