The owner likes to cheat People, I gave him 2000 rs so he could buy me a bottle of vodka and he returned with 150rs and a bottle. I know it does not cost.

I recommend you to not to stay there. We call and reserved a room and when we reached there they cunningly doubled the price. Since it is middle of night we don't have a choice but to take it. And very bad neighbourhood arround as well.

This review is of the driver service provided by the hotel driver Chanda.
We booked him for five days/four nights for a tour from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya, Worlds End, Polonoruwa (the long way round to Sigiriya) Dambulla, Anuradhapura - finish. We (wife and I) thought he quoted 16,000 rupees (a great deal) but on the fourth day we found out he had said 60,000 rupees - not such a good deal. As the price was lost in translation and it was well into the trip that we realised the mistake we were 'caught'. We could have walked but this would be unfair. He would not negotiate. We explained many times the confusion based on his poor English but he would not budge on price (understandably). Good driver, used the horn always and aggressive driving skills (it is Sri Lanka). English adequate but
would never engage in conversation, one word answers. Took us everywhere we asked him to, stopped where and when we requested and showed us how to get to all the sights. Problem was we did not get a chance to get a decent price for the trip, could get a guide/driver with good English for the same or cheaper, lack of engagement. A/C did not work for the second, 7hr day on the road through hot climate. Fixed it the next day at my request. We did not go to the hotel as we met the driver at Kandy train station

The rooms had a no views but mosquito infested, spider webs and dust. No room cleaning every day even after placing request. Our bins were getting full with baby nappies, food & stuff. Though keys were handed over, they did not bother to clean or clear them. Blood sucking bugs in bed/mattress propping up and mosquitoes. The bathroom was disgusting and mouldy. It’s not guarantee that we will get the same room which is on display online.

Dogs inside the hotel compound and gang of street dogs around the corner. One of the guest (lady) was bitten by a dog during our stay on 21st Feb 2017. We were horrified when the manager/owner said not to worry it is just a family dog.

A steep uphill and a steep downhill to reach the compound even tuk-tuk's struggle to climb. At any time of the day you have to dread the pack of dogs to reach any shop or restaurant. At night (around 7pm) it was quiet and dark ruled dog gangs. We did not feel safe at all. It was pitch black and had a terrible vibe. No stores any were near to the hotel and nothing to eat out. You had to walk to the other side of train station to find food to eat. Website claims 24x7 hotel reception. Not true. It shuts around 10:30PM and every thing around the compound gets dark. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Nice big rooms with a nice view from the common area. Takes 10-15 minutes to get into the city but the train station and the bus station are really close. The owner organised cancellation train tickets at 6am for no extra fee!
