Stayed overnight whilst on a 2 day safari. Hotel beautiful and our room in a brand new annex. Staff welcoming and friendly. Had a fantastic dinner that evening and they provided a lovely breakfast all wrapped and ready for us to take out on safari, which bearing in mind was at 4 am, I think exemplary service. Was great value for money and I’d highly recommend a stay here.

Hotel is OK and tucked away down a dark lane off the beaten track. However we did not feel that safe here and would not recommend walking down the track at night to main road. A few locals were drunk in village causing us hassle. However that's no fault of hotel. Hotel has good pool but reception has too many flies. If they sort and prevent the flies problem I would give it 4 stars.

We had lunch at the Coconut Garden Hotel. The service was friendly and prompt, the only issue was that the waitress did not speak English, so she did not understand our special request, but acted like she had. We were not impressed as the vegetables in our vegetable curries were undercooked and the portions were very small. Two small pieces of carrot and a bit potato in coconut milk with rice. Yet it was quite expensive for what we received. We have has similar meals elsewhere in Tissa and in Sri Lanka and paid half the price for larger portions. They also allow smoking in the dining area, which, if you are like my girlfriend would prefer to avoid since she is highly allergic. The setting of the hotel is however lovely.

Great place to stay! We stayed here with an 11month old baby and there is a big shared balcony where he could crawl and play. The pool is awesome and the food is really good.

Awesome! It's a new and beautiful resort. We stayed for one night 18-19 August 2017. The view from the room was beautiful. There are banana plantations around and can walk to Tissa lake from inside the hotel. The staff was very polite and kind. Excellent hospitality. Food was yummy though there was very less varieties for vegetarians. The owner was also very kind and accepted the feedback. We enjoyed staying there and strongly recommend.👍🏼

Beautiful hotel with palm trees and peacocks in the garden. Great swimming pool and beautiful rooftop from which to watch the sunset. Staff are incredibly helpful - a few of us had food poisoning when we arrived and they were very accomodating including offering to get us medicine from the pharmacy. The safari we booked through them was also great and again they were flexible in changing to meet our needs given that some of us were ill.

abbiamo soggiornato in questo hotel prima del safari nel parco di yala. personale gentilissimo. dall'aperitivo di benvenuto con un mix di frutta fresca alla cucina ottima, la zuppa di pomodoro era buonissima. oltretutto camerieri e cuochi si sono dimostrati disponibili e pieni di attenzione anche per i nostri bambini . al mattino alla quattro la cucina era aperta per la colazione e ci avevano preparato il pranzo al sacco per il safari. situato nel cuore del verde al riparo dal sole e dal caldo. davvero da consigliare

If you're looking for a restaurant before going to a safari this is the perfect place. 🏣 There's a wide à la carte menu from which you can order a good choice of plates. 🍝 There's also a set menu for people traveling with an organized tour. The food is fresh and not too spicy, so if you're a foreign traveler you won't burn your mouth. 🔥 The waiters are kind but not all of them speak English, however the owner speaks it perfectly. 🇬🇧
The Coconut Garden offers rooms too. There are eight rooms in the main building. 🛌 They are clean and well cured with a simple but all new clean bathroom. 🛁 Two cottages are under construction and they will be finished in February 2017. They will contain four more rooms. 🏠
There's a good pool with sunbeds. 🏊
The Coconut House is a lovely and quiet place, perfect to spend a few hours or a few nights in order to safari. ⭐

Relax, can see peacocks in its own garden. Very friendly staff, and owners always see for guests requirements. Only problem they don't have a swimming pool yet,but they said end of this year it will be done.
