    UNRELIABLE and FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE
The title may sound harsh but the stress we have been put through by the irresponsible manner a Malaysian visa application assistance was rendered by Travelport would regard the title an understatement even.
Owing to the urgency of the application, 3 weeks prior to submitting the same I spoke to Shifam who gave me the assurance that visa process is 5 working days, and the list of documents required was confidently provided to me.
The visa application was submitted to Shifam at Travelport office Kurunegala on Tuesday, and only then he says that the submission by his agency to Visa office is ONLY ONCE A WEEK, hence our application can only be submitted the following week. So we lost a week where application was sitting there at their office, and another week for Visa Center to process. The flight ticket had to be amended and cost was incurred because of this.
Despite asking if documents were sufficient as sponsor letter and sponsors bank acct infos have all been given, Shifam says yes confidently. A day before collection, we get a call from embassy requiring letter from applicants bank with a min of USD500, a TC letter and it has to be submitted by 2pm the next day. This was rushed and handed to Shifam by 12 the next day and Shifam again assured that visa should be out within 2 to 3 days. And as agents who do this day in day out we would presume they know what they are saying. On collection day applicants passport was not there and were ask to collect the following Tuesday. And I assume nothing was done to expedite it. All Shifam could say is, its Embassy’s discretion. Again the flight ticket had to be amended with costs incurred.
On the next collection day, the despatch guy assigned to collect the passport calls the applicant directly and says he dropped the collection slip in water and directed applicant to head to embassy immediately for self-collection. When we contacted Shifam, he said he will speak to the boy and revert….he never did. All attempts to call Shifam in the mobile number and office was futile. He was either not there or in a meeting. He never returned call as well. Applicant’s husband went directly to Travelport office that evening and only then Shifam calls him and says please assist to arrange applicant to self-collect and transport charges will be borne by Travelport.
After collection, the payment for the transport was negotiated and delayed.
And todate, Shifam has not called or text me to apologise. All in….1 month for a visa and 3 airticket amendments with costs wastage.
Shifam was very quick in getting the application details and payments, but never prompt in getting the visa in time as promised. He never replied messages and claimed to be in meetings all the time…it surprises me how a busy man like him never fails to update his profile picture on whatsapp daily though. Little expected was for him to answer his calls or call back just to update. This was negligently and carelessly absent.
A very frustrating experience and a word of advise to all who intend to get a visa via Travelport, do it yourself with the embassy. It may prove to be faster and less stressful. As agents who were supposed to know how to smoothly get the visa, they messed up big time!
