I was there for three days with my group. Food was good which we ordered from the room service menu (we were bb). But we couldn't enjoy it because the whole hotel has a serious bed bug infection. I had changed three rooms and all the rooms had it. Be careful when you go there because they can spread to your home.

It was a nice and cheap beach hotel right on the water. Nothing out of this world but just everything you need to have a great time ! The spa/massages were great. I guess when we went it was the off season (first week of May) so there was barely anyone there.

We had a wonderful time at Surf Hotel. Room and Bathroom are spacious. Outdoor swimming pools are amazing plus the open sea. Food was alright.

Property is beautiful, and located at a prime spot giving you access to the beach right as you walk out of the hotel, however service is lacking. They seemed more interested in serving one type of customers and completely ignored the rest. During check in experience was smooth however things turned sour during the rest of the stay. Before check out, one of their young and I hope inexperienced housekeepers actually came and checked the minibar contents right infront of us that is not the practice most star hotels follow. They seemed eager to enforce policies (meant for safety purposes which I understand) however nothing was written down so that guests are aware of them in advance. The night shift team in front office needs some more finesse in terms of customer dealings. Food was good, we only sampled the breakfast spread. The coffee shop/restaurant staff were courteous and one lady who seated us (apologies on missing out the name) was ever smiling that put us in ease after the previous night's bad experience with the front office staff. I wouldn't mind coming back to The Surf however some basic changes are required.

Great place, right on the beach and several rooms open onto the beach front. The strip of beach is atleast 2km long, beautiful sands, mangroves and a reasonably gentle slope into the sea. The food is very good, there are two swimming pools and a nice spa on the premises. This place is popular with international travelers, and being in Bentota, there are enough activities including water sports like speed boats, jet skis and banana boats, as well as a river cruise on the Bentota River very close by.

If you just prefer to chill, that's perfect for this place too - hammocks and coconut trees and a couple of small shacks are just next door. Great place for a weekend or even a longer stay.

This hotel has great view to the beach. The breakfast served was very good. The buffet had a lot of great options. Did not have lunch as we are vegetarians and they had almost no choice for us. Bentota beach is one of the very best in Sri Lanka. This hotel provides a great experience for people wanting to enjoy the beach. Rooms were very good too.

Great hotel with nice and friendly staff. Location has very attractive features including a beautiful beach. It also a very convenient place to reach since the train station is in front of the hotel and the main road is so close to the hotel.

Needs improvement. Lovely location and property but needs maintenance and good service. Some staff members provide excellent service while some do slack at it. Rooms and property needs constant maintenance.

Good property. Away from hustle bustle. Has clean beach. Hotel claims to run number of activities for guests but when we enquired none of that was happening. Got to know that due to one or other reason it is not happening. Even DJ was not available for karaoke night on Friday. That was disappointing.

Nice rooms, great view from every room. Good healthy food options available. Nice restaurant and bars.
Pool and beach for your swimming needs.
Spa and message is also present to get relaxed after quick tour.
Recommended to stay in Bentota.

Wonderful hotel in Bentota. Enjoyed the Spaghetti with beef sauce and loved their chicken burger as well. Service was good and so is the view.

The best beach resort I've ever stayed. All rooms are beach facing. I would say that this is one of the best places to stay in Bentota. Staff were courteous and helpful. Service was not up to the mark as expected. The buffet spread is excellent.

One of the best properties we have stayed in.The bedroom opened up to the sea beach.Excellent view from the room in the ground floor.We were blessed with a full moon, on the day of our stay.The beauty of the sea on a full moon night still lingers in our memory.

Had to wait for more than an hour for them to find our booking and then prepare the room. When we got the room, the toilet wasn't clean, and toiletries not refreshed. We requested a bottle of water at night around 10pm, had to wait about 40 minutes just for a bottle of water. Not good experience.
The two stars are for (a) the fantastic view and (b) their great breakfast/dinner restaurant L'Heritage

Nice hotel by the shore of lovely Benthota. However, there are few points which were not up to the standard we expected.

1. The hot water was not functioning properly. Even after informing about it, the hotel was unable to fix it.
2. There was moisture on the room's floor

Food is good, but the desert range is not sufficient enough. However, the staff is very friendly and attended to our requests at their earliest.

I believe the management has to revise the room conditions and the verity of food so that the guests could have a better experience during their stay.

Wonderful hotel with sea view from each room. Good food and service. The place was lively with many guests, specially interested in relaxing at the hotel's private beach. Lovely spa too. Wish we had a little more time there.
