The Bentota Beach Hotel has a range of activities for enjoyment and relaxation, I highly recommend it if you are looking for a luxurious stay in Sri Lanka.

Rooms were very damp n stinking, restrooms were worn out. One of the waiters informed that the hotel is not getting renovated and will be closed soon. The big bags don't fit in the lift so the porter has to physically carry them. Poor guys!
The buffet price was super expensive and the a LA Carte had limited food selection. Very dissapointed for the exhorbant rate they charge.

bad/slow service and waayyyy overpriced (and this cannot be stressed enough!). Money from our card got withdrawn twice also we asked them to double check that this was not the case. All services are overpriced compared to what can be found locally (e.g. boat tours) the buffet was not amazing and definitely not worth the money we paid for it

Large hotel and large beach. The beach is huge with lots of sand. However, the sea is not for swimming, too many waves. No shade on the beach. Very little to do outside the hotel. There are a few tours and water sports on the Bentota river nearby if you're not worried about crocodiles :) . It's a place for everyone who prefers poolside and doesn't mind that there's very little to do immediately outside the hotel.

Good great. Many activities to do. Relaxing and spacious. I have to this place manytimes, every single time the food was great. Well that natural swimming pool is not that good because I hit my knees twice on piece of rock beneath.

It's a beautiful place but I think a long renovation is overdue. The pool is carved out of a rock and while it may be esthetically pleasing, it will take toll on your kneecaps and feet. Also, probably one of the best stretches of beach there is in the country, on season.
