Nothing good in this hotel. Room was dirty, windows doesn't close so you can not sleep because of noise from outside. Ants in the bathroom. After the first night we decided to check out but we had a reservation for two night so it was told us we had to pay for both nights. They proposed a room change. The second one was the same (but no ants). The only problem was that air conditioning did not work. They sell this hotel as a 4 star hotel and the price is very high. But everything is old fashioned. No maintenance in the rooms. I would not recommend.

Avoid the spa/massage services here! One ⭐ rating ONLY because I must rate something in order to leave a review. I was assigned a male therapist for my 10am appointment. When it comes to massages, I am not concerned about the gender of the therapist, but rather his/her skill and professionalism. The treatment consisted of being made to climb three to four floors to the treatment room, being watched when undressing, being questioned about sexual preference, being asked for '5 minutes of fun' during the massage, and then having the massage shortened by 10 minutes. So, if you like early morning sexual harassment while being ripped off, then this is your place.

Stayed here for two nights. Extended for a third night thought everything was great until the third night everything was paid off. My friend came back to the hotel 4 am and the security wouldnt let him through because we had to many visitors during the day. They took our money and now have our friend in the street. The manager was called never once apologized he just called the housekeepers who were drunk and got rowdy because we were screaming to let our friend in until the front desk crew comes in at 5 am. Absolutely no class or decency. DOOO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU ARE OVERSEAS PROBABLY NOT THE SAFEST PLACE TO BE.

Staff was friendly. Decent clean spacious rooms. But the bed was not very comfortable matress had thin layer. Clean bathroom. No hair dryer tooth paste tooth brush though. The AC was coming directly to the bed. So the sleep was not very comfortable. English breakfast was food. Local breakfast didn't have much options. For the current price worth the stay. Good location. Easy to find and surrounded by many restaurants. Limited parking space however.

It's not a luxury hotel, but the place it's quiet, clean and the stuff is very very kind and always ready to help you if you need. Great pleace and good memories. Commendable.

Impressive and surrounded in a luscious garden St.Lachan Hotel. We were not here for a nights stay, but for lunch. The first stop in Negambo, Sri Lanka, and our first Sri Lankan meal. As we sat at the equally attractive dining area, we got to know each other while munching the crispy snack and pinched into the freshly baked bun. Amidst waiting for half an hour for the main meal, it was worth the wait. We loved the royal like service whereby we just sat back and the waiter actually served us by adding the rice, side dishes and curries on our plates. Moreover, once we tucked in, we couldn’t stop talking about the sumptuous authentic Sri Lankan food cooked with lots of spices, coconut milk and fresh seafood.

Really big rooms with tea/ coffee making facilities and a nice shower. Amazing breakfast and the best food we ate in Sri Lanka. Good location close to the beach and nightlife and overall a very well run place with helpful and friendly staff. The only downside was that the wifi wasn't working for the first 5 days of 7, but then I didn't need it anyway

We are currently, as of the time of this post,staying in the St.Lachlan's and will for a total of 4 night's. Our room is large and everything is very clean and tidy.
The staff is very forthcoming and helpful with questions about the negombo area.
The breakfast is simple but very good variations with egg and fresh fruit juice and fruit platters. Also eating a la carte is very good at an OK price for eating at a hotel.
The beach is only a few minutes away by foot. Lot's of shops at the main street.response / report this review -

Spent three nights (family of four in two rooms) after touring the country for three weeks. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Ideally situated to access and enjoy nightlife and sunset views. Good breakfast. Cleanness of rooms could improve but overall an excellent value of money.

Small and intimate place with a calm and peaceful vibe. Friendly staff that went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and happy. There is a clean pool and the food is absolutely delicious. Had the package lunch and it was tasty plus filling.
