It's recovering very fastly from the recent bomb attacks. Now they have implemented body checking sequences before entering the promises. Crowd scene in the premises is still very low. In front of the building huge construction is going on and it might be little bit inconvenient since you have no parking spaces around the Shrine. Cleanliness of the place might have gone down after the attack but I hope it will recover soon. I don't know how but its seems most of the statues has survived without any damage during the attack

Simply a place with miracles. Just go in faith n ask in faith & it will be done to you. Dedicated to St. Anthony of Padua Italy. Crowded on Tuesday and Sunday. But weekday evening you can enter the church with a long queue. Take no bags as they are checking everything after the recent terrorist attack on the church. Its a Holy place don't ruin the nature of it.

Restoring to shrine and the church premises are getting over to reopen the church for the public worship on the the 12th June 2019. This the chariot procession of St Anthony will not take place due to security reasons. However con celebrated high mass will be offered in the morning to mark the St. Anthony's feast.

A very very sacred & popular church in Sri Lanka. I understand that people of many other faiths go to this church & I my self saw a muslim lady in this church when I was in the church last year & all this says that there is something very special in church. I go to this church most of the times when I am in Sri Lanka. This church has a long history. You will also find a small museum on the side of the church with some history. Please visit this church & feel it yourself.

St. Anthony's Shrine is a famous Roman Catholic church in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Colombo in Sri Lanka. The church is located at Kotahena, and is dedicated to St’ Anthony of Padua. The church is declared as national shrine.

One has only to visit this church on any Tuesday of the year, to see the thousands from North, South, East & West who come to pray to St. Anthony, to ask his help for some need, to fulfill promises made, to thank him for answering their prayers and show their love and respect.

Great shrine for St.Anthony. worshipped by lot of people and opened till late.
Church has part of St. Anthony's tongue in a special casing. History of the church is fascinating if can be read. There's a shop for buying books memorabilia etc and candle hut for special occasions as well.
It is a place for granting miracles. Enjoy if visiting.
