Accommodation and food for reasonable price crowded and noisy in Fridays

It's a total back-up option option if one is stuck in the city overnight or needs a base from which to visit and explore the Buduruwagala Archeological site.
Some friendly staff, but not enough to complement the old & deteriorating physical plant. My stay included no hot water, lots of mosquitoes, and no electricity (for around an hour) at 11pm at night no less! When the electricity went out, the manager was nowhere to be found -- and the only attendant was a friendly old man who could speak no English and didn't know what to do. (Electricity was flowing to all the neighboring establishments, so it was clearly a problem only at the hotel.) Now far it be for me to criticize anyone for not speaking English, but for the price and the way the hotel is marketed, someone should have been available with whom one could communicate. (Individuals at the bar next store came to the rescue - thankfully.)
All in all, the services just didn't remotely justify the prices - which should have been -- at most -- half of what was charged. (The $14 or $16 rooms are worth -- at most -- $6 or $7, which even then gives one hot water and electricity all across Sri Lanka!)
The hotel ultimately is grossly more expensive over all than other options - and outrageously overpriced when one considers what one can get elsewhere in Sri Lanka. It is truly a "beggars cannot be choosers" option - and to be avoided at all costs!
Oh - and did I mention that there's not even a breakfast included (which -- for the prices they charge -- should be a given!)?response / report this review -

Good service and helpful staff but the place is run down. Does not have hot water for shower, water flow is minimal, and place is infested with mosquitoes.
