  Went in to eat at the restaurant. We are vegan so checked the menu and didnt find options for us. I went to the bathroom to just WASH MY HANDS before eating. When we decided to leave, we were interrupted at the door and the lady asked us to pay 50 rupees because i used the restroom but we did not order anything. I know it's not a big amount, but it was ridiculous and rude of them to do that. They thought we went in for the restroom. RUDE RUDE RUDE. The restaurant was empty to begin with. The whole area of nuwara eliya is not welcoming and dirty. Do not stop here if planning a trip to sri lanka. We spent 4 hours looking for a good place to eat, most places are disgustingly filthy

  An old fashioned colonial restaurant within the dated yet charming Windsor Hotel. The grilled fish, meats and European food prices are fairly typical and a lot more than the curry, which we opted for. The curry and rice closely follows the Sri Lankan style and is good quality. The service is good and kind of fun as it reflects the old English colonial tradition. For extra experience, visit the basement bar afterwards for a taste of the grittier side of life - gin is sold in 100ml measures!

  Buffet breakfast for RS 1700. Everything you would find in a good hotel buffet is there.
