Amazing colonial building with a great balcony and courtyard. Not to miss if you fancy a drink. Only let down is the food which is slightly expensive for what you get but don’t let that stop you. The bar downstairs is also really cool

BAR REVIEW : There are very few bars in Kandy and this old colonial one is arguably the best. The interior is beautiful and full of history. The 1st floor includes a very nice terrace and a collection of colonial pictures that is worth a look.
Beer price is decent (less than 500,-LKR).

Fantastic place for drinks in a beautiful colonial old colonial building. Takes you back in time to when it was a British officers club. Highly recommended.

Old world. Downstairs is good for alcohol at decent prices. Upstairs has a good balcony and good food at higher but still acceptable prices for the ambience. A good alternative to The Pub.

A really atmospheric old British officer’s club with a nice bar, restaurant and hotel very well maintened. Feels like travelling in time. We just had some beers in the nice garden at the back sorrounded by locals and some tourists. The food menu includes in general Western style food.

This place is in the middle of the town so easy access. Closing at 2 p.m at again opening at 5 p.m some waiters need training they doesn’t know about hospitality. Only bites are available on the menu if you are hungry better not to pick this place. Place is really nice and food is really good little bit overpriced. Parking not available

Nice and chilled place for an afternoon drink. Drinks very well priced but the happy hour we’d heard about wasn’t happening. Nice staff. Chips were a little on the small side given they were about the same price as a large Lion

Very friendly but costly. We could feel the presence of the old colonial Brits creeping out of the woodwork

It's quaint and has great architectural value. I love this place as it is hidden in the middle of the city. They used to have out of the world chocolate cakes here.

Great period bar in a non-descript location. Bar closed until 5pm, was there at 445pm and was hanging for a beer. Went elsewhere and came back later. Beer wasn't cold. Stillgreat bar to pop into and see.

Apart from The Pub this is the best drinking hole in Kandy. Nice courtyard and good old colonial feel.

Very good bar and restaurant (old colonial place), and stands out because Kandy doesn't have much competition. Nice old building with welcoming staff and a decent menu.

Well recently renovated. A very good place to have a beer and enjoy some good snacks. Tastefully refurbished while preserving the looks and the traditions of a Old English Bar. Reasonably priced. A safe place to have a beer.
