The food is average at best. Whatever you do. Do NOT order the fried cuttlefish.
Their service at the restaurant leaves a whole lot to be desired.

As a westerner I asked for Sri Lankan hot. And it was as though they were saying You like hotI will show you how hot! The deviled fish was tiny pieces of fish with 90 percent whole chillies, The fish curry was good but make sure you understand the menu as it says 100g of fish and it means exactly that. You need to order 200g for a meal portion. But the location is lovely, it was not expensive by resort standards and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

A good hotel for a night stay. The lagoon is very beautiful and calm here. As the rooms are spread all over the land, whoever stays they could enjoy a very private place.

The food is also nice but spicy. There's a nice private pool which you can enjoy the lagoon with a nice bath

We stayed in the resort for 3 weeks in August 2015 while visiting family in Batti. We ate at the restaurant at least 1 meal every day, across breakfast, lunch and dinner. All the food was delicious and well presented. The restaurant seems hygienic and the staff courteous and friendly. The resort and restaurant are particularly worth a visit because of the fantastic pool, overlooking the lagoon, which we had a dip in every day, without fail. Looking forward to going back.

We have always stayed at Riviera When we visited Batticaloa. We really enjoyed the service provided to us. The Staff woke us up in the morning at request with fresh Coffee. Breakfast was Excellent. The Rooms were very clean and Homely .We will recomend everyone should stay at riviera and enjoy the best comfort and the delicious food cooked by the excellent Staff.

Twice we stayed here. Such a lovely place. Great place to relax and the food was extreamly good. The staff was very helpful and we are planning our next trip this year. Love to try the crab curry.

Lovely resturant. I enjoyed the food many times. Not only delicious they are also very much hygienic in condition. High hygiene standards are essential in food preparation. Riviera is one of the few places these standards are ensured. Come and have a meal and feel the difference.

I had the pleasure of staying at Riviera Resort last July 2015 it was a heartwarming experience to be surrounded by trees and lake. The management staff was very help getting us the rate specially replying to our emails timely manner which helped us to plan our trip to Batticaloa without any issues. When we got there rooms were excellent, food was mouthwatering enjoyed the taste of Batticaloa food. Looking forwarded to come and enjoy the hospitality again.
