5 stars for being the only place open with adequate staff at night. I came in at 10.30 with my dog at an emergency state of diarrhoea. The doctor and staff were really good.

The worst experience in Sri Lanka.We called the hospital beforehand ,making sure that the x ray machine is working.We were said is wonrking.I had to take a taxi from Negombo ,because it was an emerency case and by the time i came here,turned out that machine doesnt work.I was asked to wait for 5 minutes while it was clear that the technical support will come not earlier than next day.People dont take seriously their jobs they are walking half asleep.No interest to save any pet.I m very upset with this hospital and i dont recommend it to anyone.Avoid it

Giving 5 stars for sheer kindness of doctor. I brought a doggy who was run over in front of me at kollupitiya junction. Had to deal with attitudes verging on sadistic cruelty. The little dog was on a side of a building asleep. He ran over her head. I do not want to describe the state of the poor little dog. He refused to do anything to help. So many trishaws there and on the road refused to take her to hospital. They all stood around watching her suffer. When I finally brought her to pets v care thanks to a young good Samaritan, the doctor immediately took over. Was kind and gentle and immediately took action. So this is to appreciate that pets v care lady doctor - unlike many others I have met- lived up to her training as a doctor.

With the exception of a couple of hiccups this veterinary clinic has taken care of our dogs for the past 13 years as well as anyone in Sri Lanka.

They have some senior doctors as well junior doctors. Before 3 years back they could correctly diagnosed one of my dog and healed him. But recently I heard good and bad story.

Totally irresponsible vets . Diagnosed that my dog had an enlarged heart and a brain condition. Treated the dog who walked into their clinic but collapsed soon after they injected a drug to her intravenously. From then onwards the dog went into a coma on the table in the clinic itself. My daughter who is a doctor when shown the card at home immediately went to the clinic and questioned them as to why the drug mannitol was given when the dog was diagnosed as having a heart condition. Apparently this drug Mannitol precipitates pulmonary oedema which aggravates and worsens the heart condition and creates fluid collection in the lungs . They just did not have an answer to give when questioned . think this clinic employs young intern vets who have no idea of medications and do not know what to . My dog who two days back walked into this clinic came back in a coma to die later on .Hopefully they should change the name to " Pets V Kill " . Warning to all pet lovers. A true incident that happened on Friday the 01st of December 2017 .

Poor patient care and absolute medical negligence !
Dear Pet V Care team,
This is pertaining to my family dog Lilly who was brought to your care on the morning of 1/12/2017. A dog who was ill, but conscious, and walked into your clinic. You diagnosed with both heart failure and ?cerebral oedema (as explained by one of your vets).
At your clinic she was given NS, mannitol, 25% dextrose, lasix, dexa and two IV antibiotics. As far as my clinical knowledge, mannitol is contraindicated in heart failure as it precipitates pulmonary oedema. On questioning one of your doctors as to why mannitol was given she said it was a very small dose and shouldn’t cause any problems. The dose was not mentioned on your discharge sheet however my dog is now currently unconscious less than 12 hrs since you administered those medications and has laboured irregular breathing with excessive frothing at the mouth quite similar to that of pulmonary oedema. How do I know this? Because I have seen more than enough human patients die of this. Mannitol also is a potent diuretic which if not carefully monitored can cause the brain cells to shrink by sucking out all the water.
I understand that my dog is old and obese (as one of your vets seemed to be quite hung up on mentioning it several times), but can I please know why mannitol was administered to a dog who was diagnosed with left ventricular failure by your veterinary team? One of your doctors tried very hard to justify it but didn’t seem to have a clear answer. When I told my mother to ask one of your doctors that she seems to be in congestive heart failure, your doctor purely had said her lungs were clear (????!!!!) and didn’t even put oxygen on the dog, nor were the team able to suck out any secretions (BASIC HEART FAILURE MANAGEMENT) because they didn’t have the equipment.
On taking the dog to the Air Force veterinary hospital she was promptly diagnosed to be in pulmonary oedema and appropriate management was begun for it. However this was too late and she passed away.
Seriously irresponsible care. As an animal lover, I believe that if you can’t identify and manage basic emergencies then you shouldn’t be able to practice veterinary services.response / report this review -

I had a bad experience with the pets V care animal boarding house at the veluwana place,it was very difficult to find the place since it has no signboard to that place as well no directions I guess the pets V care didn't notice it since it is not there's I guess,also we kept our dog for a month there and the place is very small no room in the cages and the place is poorly maintained at a low cost,since we already booked the place we did not have any choice to change,there are a couple of guys there who takes care of the dogs which looks so unprofessional and has no idea of what there doing,when they returned our dog to us it has not been properly fed and had ticks in it, and also menge an infection in the skin they say that they take good care of dogs,cats or any animal but they just don't care about them,so I hope Pets v care will look into this and don't board your loved pet in these type of boarding houses.

They have all the facilities like x-ray. Doctors are there to take care of your pet. They have vehicle to transport your pet. Prices may be higher but your pet is in good hands. Friendly staff. Recommend.

The staff was very friendly and accommodated to the needs. They have the necessary medical machines and equipment but unfortunately the main vet comes during the week day and our dog was treated by young vets who looked like they didn't have much skill. Our dog died on a weekend.

We had a German shepherd who was 7 years old and he was very well built. He got hip dysplasia and we could not take him to a doctor cs he was in great pain. We got the mobile unit of PetsVcare hospital. A doctor visited for about 4 times , but he never took the case seriously. He took blood samples and said the reports were normal. Gave medicine but those didnt help. With time he became weaker and we decided to take him to Best Care animal hospital since we were not satisfied with the treatments. The best care doctors were very concerned and run many tests on him. According to the reports the blood results very were bad in many ways and he had kidney issues and lungs were also infected. The doctor from PetsVcare did not identify any of that though they charge a huge sum of money on every visit and for the treatments. We dont care abt the money we spend if his life could have been saved. I do not recommend this clinic to anyone. I think Best Care and Pet Vet clinic are good places with concerned and experienced doctors.
