A Buddhist sacred place where Lord Buddha's left foot print is placed. A hard climb but even old pilgrims climb to pay their homege.

Bit of a challenge to get to the top. Best time to start climbing is 12 a.m. then you'll reach the top at 4.30 or 5 a.m and you will be able to see the sunrise from top which is beautiful.
Make sure you carry water and some snacks because the higher you go higher the price will be.

A fantastic experience climbing to Sripada. Humbling to see so many elders and young mothers and children completing the climb up more than 5500 steps. Adequate facilities along the path including Police posts. Along the way we saw wild bore and monkies.

Amazing place to visit. Enjoy true spirit of nature. Nature lovers will love to spend their time in a upcountry site of such. Natural water resources supplement water to the beautifully amazing river. Good place to relax and have a rest to your busy routine.

in the season of Sripada, here it got more busy with people and stalls. There are many places to get bath before start journey to top of sripadaya. and sanitary facilities also there with good condition. Nallathanniya Bus Stand having buses to Hatton only.

Get ya sustenance & brightly coloured teddies before the climb up Adam's Peak. It's bright, well lit, acommodating and cheap (compared with the retail outlets further up the path). The surroundings are majestic, especially at sunrise and sun set.

Great place to visit. Famous for its hike up Adam's peak, located within. It is quite a gruelling climb up the 5500 steps but certainly doable if you take your time. An ascent will take you anywhere between 2 to 4 hours so if you want to see the sunrise (around 6 am) plan accordingly. The view up top is amazing though.

Really it is a very very beautiful place. I like this place very much. Amazing view and unique place along with path.
No other place is as beautiful as PEAK WILDERNESS SANCTUARY! Really it is a very beautiful place! It is the most likeable place that I ever seen! What I said is really less. Because I have no language to express the beauty of this place. Really an interesting and beautiful place. Once when I went there, I really experienced a GOD GIFTED place. I like this place very very much.

Peak wilderness sanctuary is the 3rd largest from 50 forests in Sri Lanka. The main reason of the popularity of this sanctuary is the Samanala mountain which load Buddha's left foot print (Sri pada) is situated. The foot print was fixed by load Buddha while his 3rd visit to Sri Lanka according to grate god sumana saman's invitation.
There are 3 main routes to enter the sri pada. Two, kuruwita and rathnapura roads from Rathnapura distric and other Hatton road is from Nuwaraeliya district. Type of flora are visibly different in two routes at the begining. But at the higher elevations flora are similar in both districts.
The easiest route to enter the sri pada is the Hatton road. You can drive your vehicle until Nallathanniya which 1100m above the sea level. Then you have to walk till the top of the mountain which 2230m high. 1km elevation has to be achieved only by walking 4.5 km.

An amazing and very tireing experience.
Note: Very very busy in april due to school holidays and new years. If you want to reach the top in this month leave at one! You will miss sunrise at the peak of you don't.

Great walk upto the top of Adams Peak. I managed it in 1 hour and 50 minutes which I was proud of. Perhaps I could have done it quicker but I kept stopping for my friend because he was tired. Eventually, I left him and later met him at the top lol. The views are absolutely stunning from up here. Some sections of the climb were difficult as they were close to a 30°+ incline (handrails required). The only thing I found disappointing was the temple at the top. The views made up for it, but the temple was rubbish. Just a very small white painted box with some stairs leading up an additional two metres into a 6by6 foot room. It does get cold near the top, especially while waiting for sunrise, so make sure to bring some warm clothes even though you won't need them on the way up! Bring food too! There are a load of nice view points on the way down too, you can't see much on the way up if you're going to catch the view of the sunrise.
