It's old school, has a lot of shade and hammocks which makes the scorching Trinco sun bearable. Friendly staff and the location with it's white sandy beach with shallow water are what makes the place. The food is decent but that would not be a reason to visit.

First visit to nilaveli beach hotel an disappointed as hell. Food was an even bigger disappointment I could have cooked myself a better lunch at home .The staff wasn't helpful or either friendly they didn't even know what the hotel had to offer. Heard so many good things about this place so that's the reason we decided to go but I will never make another trip over there it's not worth it !

We absolutely loved our stay here.
Staff supper friendly and helpful. Beautiful location. Pigeon island snorkeling beautiful. The sea here is warm and very safe for kids. Pool is lovely. Bar area and the food all fantastic. Would highly reccomend it.

I'll never forget the hospitality the manager showed me seven years ago: backpacking through Sri Lanka, our destination was only a suggestion from random people we met on 12 hour buses. Being exceptionally late, we stumbled upon this hotel; the manager noticed how tired we were and let us stay for 4 nights (it was off-peak). From dingy guest houses to this luxury. It kept us from going insane. Thank you.

Overall what you expect from a big upper class hotel. Friendly and helpful staff with good english skills, good service, clean rooms and a very nice beach. We had the budget room, even that was very spacy and had everything we needed. Highlight of our stay was our own private candlelight dinner on the beach. Perfect romantic setting.
If you want some day trips, try pidgeon island or go north on a Safari with a tuktuk. Sounds crazy, especially since there is no national park nearby, but is actually pretty good (and only costs about 3000 rps). A good price for a Tuktuk ride to/from Trincomalee is about 1000 rps.
Nothing else to say but we would gladly go here again.

Beautiful estate. Perfect located for long walks on the beach. Amazing food. Snorkelling at the island is fantastic. Room was ok, through a bit dark.

This is a clean and spacious hotel situated on the beach. There are many places to relax in the sun or in the shade. There is a good size pool too. We found the restaurant a bit pricy and lacking of choices on buffet lunch. The staff were profetional and friendly.

It z a perfect destinations for the travelers who are going around Trinkomalee. There is a sweimming pool and they offer diving in Pigeon Island. And there is a beverage bar.

Staff are amazing carnt help you enough , food we only had breakfast at resort but it also is amazing plenty of choices. My only down side to this place is the wifi network no reception in ur room but eazley fixed if you buy ur own data and it cheap. We really enjoyed our stay. Also cheek out the diving it's awesome.

Nilaveli is the best property you can go in eastern coast of Sri Lanka.
You can experience 5 star hotel pleasure in budget .
They also have diving center in their premises so you can go for diving also and they are very good in their business.

Awesome service and friendly staff. The hotel is clean and the rooms are also very well maintained. But there is room for improvement, such as TV channels and desert options cuz only 11 TV channels are available so this could be increased and also more desert options could be added such as ice cream, and many more. Also wifi facility is only in just one area.But the front desk staff aren't welcoming and we weren't given a welcoming juice but the foreigners were treated with juice and cold piece of cloth so this seemed very unpleasant and unfair. Other than that the Hotel is a decent place to spend the vacation.

Really good place for a vacation. Good service from the hotel. Really helpful. Very friendly staff. Beach is also super nice and 5 minute boat ride to pigeon island where you can do snorkeling. Only issue is food prices are very high.

Stayed with my family for one night in January. Breathtaking beach front and a nice pool to relax the long drive from Colombo to Nilaveli. Pigeon Island is few minutes away by the boat.
Room and the bathroom was clean and sleeping conditions are better than expected. Food spread at dinner and breakfast worth mentioning with lot of varieties to fill you up.
