  National Institute of Health Sciences (NIHS) is the premier public health training institute of the Ministry of Health, Sri Lanka. The origin of the institution in 1926, when the first Health Unit of South East Asian Region was opened in Kalutara.

  This is a place where the goverment teach for the personnels who are involving in Health field such as nurses, public health instructors etc. A dengue prevention program is arranged in this area is conducted by this place. This institute is very helpfull for everyone in this area.
