  One of the most valuble religious temple in southern province. You can see no of ruins that made by our ancient Kings. Specially 'Naga pokuna'. Because anyone still don't know how deep this pond.

  Buddist Temple situated in weerakatiya. This temple has been built according to the Pabbata Vihara system and it is considered that the Naigala Raja Maha Viharaya was one of the rare sites in Ruhuna Kingdom with Panchayathana features and seven Stupas.Due to its historical importance, this temple has been formally recognised by the Government as an archaeological site in Sri Lanka.The designation was declared on 22 April 1966 under the government Gazette number 14692.
  
  පුරාවිද්‍යාත්මක වටිනා කමක් ඇති පන්සලකි. විවිද පුරා වස්තු මෙන්ම සෙල්ලිපිද දැක ගැනීමට හැක.
  නයිලග රජමහා විහාර ගිරි ලිපි ක්‍රිස්තු වර්ෂ 4 - 5 සියවස් වල ලියන ලද ලිපි වන අතර එහි අකෂර ලෙස අපර බ්‍රාහ්මී අක්ෂර හා භාෂාව පුරාන සිංහල හාෂාව වේ.

  This temple is the valuable & historical buddhist temple in the area. This temple was constructed long time ago.
  Temple shows the pride of ancient people in Sri Lanka. The name 'Naigala' causes the rock that in temple & snakes according to folk stories.
